Maybe a ‘cell shaded’ version of the game would prove less immersion breaking?
(Cell shading can get away with flat colours and survive without detailed textures)
Patch 1.6 will be replaced with something much better.
Whether that comes in the form of 1.7 or it takes a few more- this game will settle.
There is just a few things lingering.
As a (tech) supporter most of my working life; unreproducable or inconsistant issues are the hardest to fix.
WH are yet to get a handle on EVERYONES issues.
In trying to do so they often affect working code on others users machines.
Hence why a few on these forums get so miffed when mod users report bugs.
Even turning the mod off doesnt ensure the game hasnt been changed/affected by the mods use.
WH wasting resources on non issues delays the masses from a finished polished product.
Until a few specific random niggly issues are removed- we dont have a foundation to build from.
They have been super unlucky once or twice (in ways no one could have forseen).
Sure - hindsight being 20/20 we can all tell them - this or that was silly… but it isnt the case.
Contingency plans arent always easy to roll out.
And timelines such as DLC releases and users demandong ‘instant fixes’ have exacerbated issues too.
This is developmental hell.
They do have resolve and will get put of the woods.
I truly hope many of us selling the vision of a rosey future for this software can join with the devs (in time) for a big sillybration.
Id like to see a few net reviewers do a ‘now and then comparison’, at that point, to remind people ‘on the fence’ that the software is ready (and fantastic) for wider public appreciation.
Most fans can see past a few nigglies…
My biggest beef was with the dice game AI.
Not sure if it got improved- but I believe it is way better now than it was.
I have patience for the one evidently broken model in game being fixed up at some point. For now I just avoid it like the plauge…
