Low FPS after 79 hours of gameplay

Ater playing the game for 79 hours on ultra on steam my fps just went form 60+ to 18 at any graphics options.
For some reason my game just broke. Last thing I did on the pc was closing the game and turning it of at morning and, after coming home from work, first thing I did at night was turning on the pc and my fps ingame is something between 18~20 anywhere I go.
I really don’t get it. I’ve roll back the driver, uninstalled the game, started out a brand new save, tryed doing all sorts of game settings tweaks and little console “tricks” and nothing seems to fix it for me.

By the way, every other game I play is running fine and smoothly so I don’t think the problem is on my hardware.

If anyone has the same problem or had it and fixed I would love to know how. Thanks in advance.

PC Specs:
I7-7700K 4.2GHz
16GB Ram
GTX 1080 8gb
Monitor: 1080p 144Hz
No SSD unfortunatly

Are you sure that something hasn’t significantly changed on your PC? It might not even be the game but something else (worse case scenario, a virus).

I’d check your performance in the task bar and check for anything running in the background that might be eating up system resources.

Thanks for the reply friend,

The thing is, after looking everywhere for the the solution and not finding it, I gave up and decided to wait and see if a patch or something would fix it. Today, 3 days later, I decided to check up on the game - it doesn’t hurt right? - and its now working. Back to 60 fps on ultra high!

I have no idea what fixed it, all I know is that it wasn’t on pourpouse since I didn’t run any antivirus or installed any new program appart from the games Dishonored and Deux Ex Mankind, lol.

Well, if by any chance anyone ever come here with the same problem ad I did, guess you should wait, maybe it will fix it. And for the person that maybe has this problem, sorry I couldn’t be of much help, I just hope it fixes by itself like mine did, everyone should have the chance to experience such a great game like this one.

Anyway, thanks again.
