Low speed internet install problem

Hello,
I have a lot of difficulties to install the game,
I bought it in a store cause I have a low speed internet conection.
During the setup from the DVDs I saw that only 3 or 4Go was copy to my computer, leaving more than 30Go to be download from Steam…
I assume that I not the only one encoutering this issuen so I decided to let the download running for few days…
but when I restart Steam 1 or 2 hours ago the download screen showed 0 out of 100% of download…
That means that steam download the game from the beginning, again, with days and days of estimated download.
A patch was release few hours ago if i’m correct, I think it’s “why” everything comeback to zero.
I just want to know if there is any solution to my problem, a back up to the files that i’ve already download or something to do with the setup and the DVDs, please…
I’m seriously disapointed that I bought a game a week ago and I still can’t play it, I fear that i’m wait again many days to download it and then a new patch gonna be release and this mad problem go over and over… leaving me helpless , with a non working game …
Thank you

I dont think a patch should interrupt the downloading process…
not 100% sure but this shouldnt happen
cant you load it somewhere with better internet?

In fact, i found in the steam library around 34Go of files that has been already download,
but the downloading screen show 0%… since yesterday evening (last patch ?)
I can’t afford a 1hour trip to the “closest big city” to download the entire game !

Maybe I’ve to renounce … that I’m already living the middle age journey with the pityfull internet service of my country, the medieval France
It’s funny because I’m not the only one having this issues in the country…

did you try to check the steam game files for errors? I think you can access it by right clicking the game in your library

I try this, it do nothing like the checking last less than a second, saying that everything is ok but like there’s no files check at all

I’m trying a new approch, has I turn down the auto-update from steam and I set the install to English…
wait n see

Well, same problem as usual.

So, I uninstall everything, then I do what it seems to me to be the best solution, never use the dvd’s install and run directly the download of the last version from Steam … more of 3 days of estimated of downloading time (without interruption of course).

Conclusion: Only use the cd key from the box of a game that need Steam to run…

yeah steam download only should be no problem even with incoming patches
I also needed 2 days for download… hope it works for you now
