I couldn’t find another post about this error - but perhaps someone might benefit from the information…
For various reasons, I don’t use a pagefile, so on first running the game encountered a “Memory allocation for * bytes failed” CryENGINE error, and then a crash, no matter what resolution/graphics level.
I’m certain that most users would have the pagefile enabled in Windows, but some don’t. The error occurred on a system with 8GB of RAM, so I expected it to easily handle the requirements of the Alpha, regardless.
Of course, with pagefile enabled, the game runs really well. After a quick web search, it seems to be an issue with the engine itself, rather than any specific bug due to Warhorse coding, but perhaps there is a coding workaround?
But as I said, this is just to inform any other players that might encounter the issue.
As this is also my first post - I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed playing the Alpha, and I’m really looking forward to see how it develops.
