Metal guitar solos to not-so-metal songs

Hey everyone! Im Valentin, a lead guitarist - solo artist. Right now Im working on my solo project, and I wanted to introduce you to something I really enjoy doing in between writing & recording my solo tracks.
There are a lot of songs that I like jamming that either dont have a guitar solo, or the solo is fairly boring (in my opinion). So I just write guitar solos of my own. I post them on Youtube and people seem to really dig them. Figured Ill share them with you aswell.

I have a-lot of those, so I picked up 4 “community favorites”. If you enjoy guitar solos check them out!

(my latest one) No Doubt - Dont Speak:

The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army:

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit:

Blur - Song 2

Have a listen and let me know what you think!

Not sure how the Mods approach blatant unrelated opportunism on their turf, but it is understandable on my part. Certainly easier than working 8 hour days.

Yeah.

But apart from this, maybe we need a
’Film / Music etc’ sub-category in Off-Topic?

Well buddy, Im probably not going to get millions of views from here, so I dont think “opportunism” is the right word here. I figured since Im already posting on the forum, why not share here too (and on Off Topic category). On every forum I post there are people who enjoy this kind of stuff, and probably wouldnt have discovered these videos otherwise.
if the community enjoys this - good for everyone. If they dont the thread will slowly die, and I have no intentions to bump it.

And as for “easier than working 8 hours a day” - hell no. Its years of practicing daily for many hours, and you have to be creative when you write something, otherwise people will simply not enjoy it. So it DEFINITELY isnt easier than working 8 hours a day.

Suppose I could of put it in a less… snarky manner, but there is no need to get touchy about it. Also depends on the job, know a few metalworkers who would disagree :P.

Anyway on the subject, I quite like Charlie Parra in this fairly new medium.

Thread title just reminded me of this :metal: :metal:

Well, I couldnt really answer in a “cool” manner to that kind of a comment.
I never said its the most difficult job of all, but people tend to underestimate the huge effort it takes to make music. Hell, even when the writing comes easy (and sometimes it does), getting it heard across is very difficult.
