When trying to giver him the copper ring on the initial quest, the dialog option doesn’t show up to finish the quest. Instead of talking with the executioner to get the key to the box where the ring is being kept, I just snuck up on him and killed him and looted the key. When I returned to Miller Peshek to give it to him, all I can do is ask him about the area and other topics not related to the quest. Without finishinf that quest, I know I’m missing out on other quests that will benefit me long term. I can’t even train pickpocketing or lock picking with him yet. Am I the onl one who has had this problem? Is there a fix? I’m plsying on PS4…

Besides, the executioner seems like a kind and sad man. I sympathize his misjudgment and loneliness. I’d drink an ale with him anytime! Unlike the rest of the town who utterly avoids his poor soul…
Yea I tried but that lock picking is tricky and he kept attacking me. Plus he has an awesome sword that does great damage.
I killed him, it shouldn’t prevent you completing the quest.
I think I did read if you wait long enough he sends debt collectors to you, so you may get a second chance with them. You could try putting the ring in a box, saving, loading and taking it out of the box. Or dropping it and picking it up again. It might refresh it.
If you kill the executioner, you will miss out on other side quests with him. That’s why I try to keep all scripted characters alive until I know that they have nothing more to offer, and even then, if I like them, they’ll live through the whole game, if not, my dagger will be swift and painless.
I went back since I was still relatively early in the game and redone the quest. He does have a really good sword on him that does 69 overall damage, so I still killed him so I could get his weapon. I didn’t know he had a separate quest though. Now I’ve progreesed further along in the story and it really is too late to go back.
Got executioner to give me ring.Killed him and hid body, but peshek doesn’t see that i have it. Just keeps asking me to steal his dagger then walks away.
