Missing clothes on NPC throughout whole game

During the quest Next to Godliness I stole lord Capon’s sword and clothes from the chest when he was enjoying the bath. After I finished the quest, lord Capon is now wearing only underclothes wherever he goes… I know that I took his stuff, but wouln’t he put on something else? I mean this looks really stupid, he just goes everywhere in his undies and he is like that even in other quests and cutscenes… Any solution how to fix this? I don’t think this was ment to happen…

npcs pick stuff up in this game, articles of clothing included, but it seems they only wear their own designated clothing. would be interesting if npcs could pick from a pool of designated clothes…for example a category of “noble” clothes that they could use. for example, i opened therea’s personal chest which contained her clothes, removed her stuff and put in a bunch of fancy dresses, but she just ignored it and came out in her nightgown
