Monastery Questline made me Gave up the game (Not really)

After the 10th time of ending up in jail, for even attempting to steal some fruits in order to get some lockpicks in order to advance with antonius’s escape, I simply gave up.

This is possibly one of the worst designed quests I have ever encountered, and I have been playing games for some time. It is a shame, I was really enjoying it up until now.

This is the third time I’ve tried this quest, and it is more difficult than any Dark Souls boss I’ve encountered at a Soul Level 1 run. It is sad how someone designed this.

Me too, i hated this quest. I wanted to do it without murder but it was just too much for mine patience so i just killed him and let myself to be arrested.

It’s actually a very quick quest if you know what you’re doing.

Spoilers:

There’s a lockpick behind the altar in the area for prayers.

The Monastery key is in the store room of a kitchen, which you can enter when everyone is eating (still trespassing).

The monastery was grueling for me…took me about a week, but I got through it and was so happy to get done with it. It was actually quite a memorable experience for me. If you take advantage of the daily labors, you boost up your alchemy and reading maybe (I could not get any of the latin scriptures right).

It’s fine, sneaked in the cellars at night, saw the two monastic guards drinking, and stealth killed both. Then I opened the Monastery door, whistled horse and got all my gear, brewed a couple of Schnapps.

Now I am curious to see what happens if I drink an Antidote right after food is poisoned.

Interestingly enough, if anyone is interested, drinking the Antidote straight after you are poisoned (in the canteen) results in you fainting anyway, despite the “poisoned” icon vanishing from the UI at the bottom of the screen.

It’s like a scripted event so it doesn’t matter what you do.

You can also get a dagger and 200gr from the floor of the balcony next to the sleeping domes. If you don’t invest in what this quest line offers or don’t give any attention to any detail and expect for an easy workaround of each quest, don’t blame the design. You can also let him live, let him live and kill him outside of the monastery or take him as a prisoner. Invest time in that those quests cause they are very unique and interesting. I got kind of bored following the monk schedule but as a whole experience was very nicely executed and interesting.
