Actually the real reason why there are these blackouts before every NPC talk has been stated in some videos multiple times. I think it was because the world is a living place unlike many other games and the camera system is also dynamic, as you can approach the character from random angles. They said this limitation will not go away because every NPC has to stop the program which they are doing now (for example farming on the field), start a new program to talk to you and then resume back what they were doing. The living world (every npc has its schedule) is the reason why you will see blackouts even in the future. Usually everything in live has its reasons…
'Constant crashes on the console… ’
I think i’ll buy a lottery ticket since i havent had one crash on my old ps4.
Stop acting like the loading before convo’s wasnt meant to and is an error or bad coding.
People explained the reason for those screens to you atleast two times here already!
Lol well there’s your mistake. Playing a PC game on an XBox. Sorry but I couldn’t care less about console optimisation. The devs want the money from the console market, I get that, but this really isn’t a suitable game for that market.
you shouldn’t push people to upgrade gear to play your game. that was rude. people will still playing they need just reduce level of details.
you just were stupid enough to buy a console… im on pc 50+ hours into the game without a single crash
Playing this game with a dual core @2.93 gz, 8 gig ddr3, and an R7 240 and don’t have time to scratch my nuts before a conversation starts. Is it really that big a deal? Not going to get involved with all the boot-fuckin that’s going on in this once friendly forum, but some of the gripes come across as petty and pointless.
People are dumb. You’re right, the loading times are really excessive. I’m guessing it’s loading that npc dialog, animations…etc. You need an SSD to play this game. I want to say that you shouldn’t need an SSD to play a game today, but I suspect that as games have to stream more stuff (higher res textures and whatnot), it’ll become a common requirement. Still, if witcher 3 didn’t suffer from this, I suspect kcd doesn’t need to either. I suspect the game is just not optimized as well as it could be. With a regular HDD, it doesn’t even load the character models in time I think - when I moved it to my SSD, the “walking disembodied outfits without people in them” issue went away. Tldr: you need an SSD.
Also, we had streamed worlds without loading times since the 00s, it’s nothing to brag about. Though I do appreciate interiors not having to load.
This thread has the highest density of pc master race elitism I’ve seen
