More Simulating?

hm dont really know how i will put this into words but will ye be able to like being a farmer or other occupation in this game and live yer own life instead o playing the main story more like a simulator, like as i saw someone ask before if ye can own an tavern or a blacksmith or will ye be able to start yer own family with wife/husband and kids?

and will there be generic npcs ye can hire like canonfodder like in mount and blade? it would be nice to see tha ye get the chance of being able to play with yer own bandit group or mercenary squad, npcs with backgrounds and stuff can still exist but i would like the idea of having some npcs to fill out the ranks if i want to wreak havoc or just try to get hired as a merc

i learned about this game today and im really possitive of buying the game later but i havent read tha much about it yet so my thoughts might already have been asked and answered by some else but i want to know if this will be possible

Nope, it’s an RPG which is more oriented towards the aspects of a western RPG than a life simulator. Getting married is not an official feature, it might happen during the story, but I even doubt that at least in the first act. Since you are a son of a blacksmith you will of course be able to craft tools and weapons. If you want a medieval life simulator, try The Guild.

You’re not a leader of an army, but you will have allies here and there, but they’ll most likely stand by your side in context of the story or quest. Also wreaking havoc will be pretty difficult, since you’re not a super hero. Fighting against one enemy is challenging, against two is tough and against a city’s garrison seems very unlikely to survive.

You might want to watch several videos which have been posted in the E3 thread to see how combat works and how challenging it is.

Ah to bad, it would have been something i would have liked alot if it were with those things i wondered about, though it looks like a fun game and people will surely mod it so i might fund it later then  thanks fer the answers

You may want to look into Life Is Feudal for this kind of stuff, if you don’t know this game already : http://lifeisfeudal.com

has been owning LIF since last autumn though they never updates the game anymore or havent done anything vital to tha game in a year and it doesnt have the stuff im looking for

Again: The Guild. Get it in the Steam Summer Sale, give it a try. Probably read the manual first or it might get too difficult to get started

They never update the game ?! These last months they’ve added horse riding, siege weapons, decay, judgment day, guilds, torches… and a lot of other stuff I don’t remember. I agree development is slow but it’s steady.
Personally, I like the game a lot and I’ve played it for hours sometime after it started it’s open alpha phase (and 3-4 times since to check on updates) but the broken combat mechanics and the amount of time you need to put in to do anything is a deal breaker  (also, like any MMO it’s very ugly :p)

edit:
Hey, but wait a sec, is your name SirStart on Steam too ? Were you playing on the Arcus server ?! I think we played LIF together lol

Another great game about medieval times: Crusader Kings II. Loads of DLCs, which is a bit annoying, but they do enhance the gameplay by either adding new territories, culture-specific features or in general more content.

It’s a mix of strategy and role-playing with a huge potential of replayability. It takes some time to get into it but in general it’s like playing, losing, learning from it and play again.

Hm i might need to check up on LIF again if they have updated all this stuff as ye say
Aye i do have the name SirStart on steam to so if ye meet with someone named SirStart on LIF there are a 99% chance tha was me! i dont remember the server i played on though :stuck_out_tongue:

well Crusader kings doesnt have the same aspect in the game as a game like this one, Crusader kings are more o medieval micromanagement game on a world map and this one seems to be a first person medieval game :stuck_out_tongue:
