XBox One, Ver 1.3
Screen stutter really is causing me to consider delay playing this game until the issue is fixed. Stutter is a killer especially in combat.
This needs a number one priority to fix!!!
Didn’t have any issues in the beginning. It began sometime after getting to Rattay, and in Rattay it seems to be the worse.
I am wondering if some of the files (especially inventory) are becoming too large for XB1 to process or if the processor is overheating? Would need a thermal scanner to determine if that were true.
I had a similar screen stutter problem with Skyrim, but I was probably at Level 60 or so. I deleted all unneeded saves and put a computer fan on the vent. Didn’t have any problems after that.
PC.
Hans Capon pathfinding sucks… after the siege when we had to pick up Radzig had to follow him through bushes and springs while pushing him to unstuck from trees or bushes… destroyed the whole atmosphere. Had to replay the siege 3 times since he would stop horse at the firs house he hits.
Then Hans strikes again when I need to follow him with the letter. He goes into the bushes and eventually stops when hitting too many trees… I had to stop playing at this point as it completely destroyed an otherwise amazing atmospheric game for me.
Thank you for the hard work guys, I know how hard it is to work on code.
I’d love to know if anyone else has had Hans just stand in the field during the hunting rabbits quest and never come back to camp. This is a game breaking bug and I haven’t seen anyone else with the issue. This is on PS4.
The most annoying thing for me is the fact that I can’t bring myself to play anymore! Halberds is the biggest issue, if that was fixed at least I could continue with some side quests, and wait for future patches to fix quest bugs that completely halt gameplay and force re-loads.
(xbox1) The cursor on the map-screen is barely visible. Make it red or bigger or big red, please.
Thank you again, everyone! Even though there is almost no activity from my (our) side, we are still lurking around and reading these. Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
have a good day guys!

Ladders… Dammit Ladders! I could not use any of them in Monastery and was not able to properly finish one of the quest.
Damn right, the ladders. They are more dangerous than Cumans.
@WH_janrucker not sure if you’ll see this but my frustration with the game boils down to two points:
- absolutely rubbish NPC AI (combative and otherwise) often times laughably dumb and unresponsive.
And
- terrible optimization and general engine weakness. I know you folks are not even close to the size of Ubisoft and have nowhere near their budget. But if far cry 5 can look incredible and full of life and detail and run on ultra with a gtx970, I feel like KCD has a chance to run better too
Edit: here’s a small little thing too, I want to be able to adjust the zoom level on the map while simultaneously moving it around. Currently you can only zoom in or out if you completely stop moving the cursor on the map. It just feels clunky
Need to create video of ambush point at night. You approach on horse back with torch. You see the log, chest or body/person on path and recognize an ambush. You take your horse off the path and loop behind the NPC bandit on your left (location is known like back of hand). You get off the horse (torch still in hand). The bandit is crouched down… looking at the path. You sneak the 1m (or 2m if you’re overly cautious) behind the bandit. The bandit moves not a cm. Stealth kill.
You loot. Get back on horse and loop behind NPC bandit on other side of path. This time though the NPC bandit is looking away from the path . Otherwise, rinse repeat please fix and make ambush NPCs more dynamic!!!
eeeehm…what does FC5 have to do with KCD? FC5 Is not even cryengine?!
yes, Dunia isn’t the WH mod of CryEngine. the point is either WH picked a losing horse (non-modifiable product) or WH has neither the time (opportunity costs, etc) nor inclination ($$, expertise, etc) to improve graphics to be within ballpark of its engine’s distant cousin… i hope WH is just waiting for the MQ and other game breaking bugs to get fixed before diving deep(er) into graphics tweaks
The Rain glitch on Consoles, Cannot see anything, House Chest not working in Hunters Cabin
It doesn’t really have any true relation other than far cry looks amazing, like way way better than KCD and it runs amazingly as well. We’re talking a gtx 970 on all ultra settings getting 60fps and only occasional dips to 56. And again, the game looks incredible. So to me a game like KCD with far simpler systems and AI and not as great of graphic fidelity you’d think would run better. Like imagine playing skyrim OG and it runs like trash and can’t keep a consistent fps then Skyrim SE comes out and looks better and runs perfectly… you’d probably want to play that one and wonder why the worse looking one runs worse too
Thx for touching base. Appreciated.
at rest, KCD has some awesome visuals/landscapes. in motion though, things aren’t so great.
at first 1.3 (PS4) had less pop-in/texture issues. but, over time since as one moves about and around KCD towns, pop-ins and textures have become more distracting .
so Daniel tweets PC graphics data. so what? those numbers don’t really speak to the pop-ins/textures., and certainly not to those with a console.
run a use case that everybody can compare and relate to and one that speaks to pop-ins and textures. pick Rattay because it has the most buildings and NPCs. run a horse through it and do a pop-in/texture check. tweet the ‘Rattay race’ results and all of us can relate.
if the pop-ins and textures are functionally distracting or disruptive, re-tune and re-test. i can’t count how many times Rattay bridges have rendered while i was on the bridge (riding Warhorse Jenda). not going to lie, the first couple times, it felt like i was falling off a cliff.
many years ago, there was a game called King’s Quest that ran on PC and PCjr. Play that game all day and all night… you never had the bridge fail to render as you’re crossing it.
.
decades later, one of its successors struggles in this regard.:
Rattay drawbridge-ramp failed to render on way to Bernard’s training area
please remedy. if WH cannot or is unwilling to make tweaks until other issues are addressed, fine. indicate so.
Not a bug, one one part that I hate, is lock picking. It’s so horrible, and literally harder than learning to actually pick a lock in real life.
The higher the level you are the easier it is. get the perks too, like the one if you fail and break the pick you get a 10% of succeeding anyway.
On PC since 1.4 they made it a bit easier by way of the tabs.
A tip also to use is if you get a pick spot in a harder place is to back out and restart. the spot will change if fortunate it will be on the inner ring. keep doing it until you get a good one.
PC people who use an xbox controller have the option of using the keyboard and mouse which I find much easier.
Please fix the problem where, on a PS4, after 30+ hours of playing, Henry begins to walk/jump/ride in slow motion for a minute or two after talking to people or checking inventory.
It is one of the main reasons I no longer play. I’ve had it occur on three different playthroughs. It also affects prior saves… once it starts happening, it doesn’t go away.
Neprijemny Bug v casti Zajatec - po otvoreni stodoly a podani lieku obyvatelomn Mrchojed nemozem hovorit so zajatcom , hra ponuka len Zabite z milosti, tym nemozem hrat hlavnu liniu hry ! Prosim poradit
The horse trader in merhojed (Johann) and two other villagers are still protesting
outside of the prison barn. I have already reported this bug before and also got an
email that it was fixed in 1.4. but as of 1.4.3 the bug is still there (at least for me it is).
I also have problem that i still can’t put the bowl back on the ground in the monastery’s
cript.
