It was inevitable, but still great to see. Now let’s try for 800K!

Great to see  maybe the game will get even more popular if some Youtubers would mention it in their channels like Gronkh. The more ressourced the developer get the more they might can do for the game.

Congratulation Warhorse

Can wait to see this technology in the game which is not just generic linear action shooter/slasher :stuck_out_tongue: http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/u9xyf7/ryse--son-of-rome-motion-capture--behind-the-scenes

They’ve already got a video up for it.

Wow!! Now we need to see the 1,000,000 stretch goal, it must be awesome!

For me it’s now just waiting till alpha will be released

I am furiously playing Warband to distract me from this excitement.

Sorry for seeming a little stupid, but what is warband ? ive seen this title with some other names and heard a lot of people talking about it saying its amazing but i think theres more then one. Is it good ?

From what I know there are at least three games under this name. Warband, Warband: Mount and Blade and Warband: Napoleonic wars (or something like that) Each uses different weapon set and it is quite fun and challenging game.

Warband is from Mount & Blade series…Mount & Blade was the first one…I remember following it since early builds, it was quite awesome game for being an indie project. Then M&B: Warband came, which improved the original, added diplomacy, marriages, stuff like that, also some kind of multiplayer which I think is very cheezy

The M&B: With Fire and Sword is technically similar to Warband but with different settings (instead of being medieval with fictituous nations its set in Europe in 17th century and the story is based on a novel by Henryk Sienkiewicz I think)

And there is a total conversion for M&B: Warband called Napoleonic wars, which is self explanatory I think…these are the officials and there are also zillions of community mods and addons…

You should try M&B: Warband, in my opinion it’s the best one

There is a big Modder-Community around, a great Mod is the “Brythenwalda”-Mod…

Congratulation.
I can’t wait so see the dialogue sequences now. : )
Perhaps it’s also possible to create great animations for object interactions, like opening chests, plundering, eating etc. In my opinion this is missing in too much first person games.
A dream would come true, if trading was visualised somehow…
cheers

£700K, which means way over a million USD… and more than 130% extra funding over the original goal. And still 9 more days to go.

Do you remember those times when some people claimed that a game like this doesn’t stand a chance? Well, let’s hope to forget about them soon…

warband is the first serious attempt at realistic medieval rpg with melee. it’s like newton’s laws of gravitation to kingdom come’s theory of general relativity, or the old testament to it’s origin of species.

long lived vesus giant evolutionary leap.

I definitely will! Thanks for the information.

So my understanding of the motion capture stretch goal as written on the Kickstarter page is that it would be mainly used to capture facial performances for cut scenes and the like. However, many people on the forum and Kickstarter comments seem to think it the motion capture will be used for better combat animations and the like. I know I could very well be wrong, I’m just curious.

So which is it? Or will it be a mix of both?

Warhorse showed us some footage of some real swordplay and they looked like they were being mocapped and also in the horse video they said that mocap would be used for the horses.

whichever it is, or hopefully both, I am very happy we got it and I am sure we won’t be disappointed.
