Idk if its just me or what but the mount mechanics are bad they don’t flow together.
Could you elaborate on why they’re bad?
Its just not a smooth transition when moving, at least for me. I had to get off my mount to turn around. But i will say i’m not use to first person for rpg games I like third, so this can be the problem for me.
Well, as far as horse animations go, they are gonna be redone, so dont worry, the horse is not yet final feature.
Proky, you know anything about the 180 degree cap while riding a horse? It’s quite annoying
Yea I agree, it is, but I know nothing about that.
I’ll ask around
Ok, so there are some issues which would have to be resolved so looking behind would work.
Unfortunately it would require disproportionate amount of work to the usfulness of the result.
Because in the end not being able to look behind is just only bit annoying, it does not really limits you in everyday usage of the horse.
So right now, there is no plan to change this.
I think I’ve heard this answer before. Too bad sigh
Personaly after riding for a while I was not really able to find an objective reason why it is so bad.
But if you feel that the turning limitation should not be there, I prompt you to write a feed back on our bug reporting site http://support.kingdomcomerpg.com/
But without a reasonable argument it wont have much of a chance.
Reasonable argument? How about “I’d like to turn my body 180 degree so I can see the Cuman lurking in the trees behind me”?
Beautiful trees, to be fair.
But maybe you’re right and one gets used to it.
Because in real live you can look behind you (without turning the horse). That´s reason enough!
Maybe not 360°, but 270°… would be better than 180°
Well, sadly, it is not. At least not right now.
But I promise I will keep an eye out for this when it becomes relevant. (for example when horse combat is introduced, this might be a real problem)
I realize that the game is in development, not all features work or work as intended, and deadlines have been missed resulting in disappointment all around. So priorities must be made and addressed. But to say that being able to look behind you is not even on the list, not even down low??? Well…
Perhaps there also is a little translation issue in posts, and it is so easy to read between the lines when you see things like, “…is only a bit annoying, it does not limits you in everyday usage…”
This is, to me, sounding very much like “there there, don’t complain, is good enough for you” attitude. I don’t like being spoon fed that argument.
KC:D touts itself as a high level reality game.
Not sure that “high level reality game” is what I would describe the game as it may lead people to think it is closer to the simulator than an RPG game, which it isnt.
I think that official description is “realistic RPG”.
But the “realistic” part is not only refering to the gameplay but also to the setting (real historical events).
It was many times said that KCD will not be strictly realistic, because that would be less fun. So some compromise has to be found.
That of course doesnt excuse the horse situation. I am just explaining to you, that you cannot expect super realistic game.
To the horse itself. As I said there are technical difficulties and there are things that has much more higher priority.
I believe that when it gets to it, we will be able to turn on the horse. It is just hard to say so ahead of time.
The word I should have used is: “Convincing”
