ok - so checking the competition (e.g. Bethesda efforts) ?

At GDC there is no “competition”. It’s one of the rare occasions where developers just meet to share knowledge without any kind of “this is yours and this is mine” thinking. It’s a conference to bring the whole industry forward and not just single development studios.

So yeah, maybe Dan will meet guys from Bethesda there. But I think they’ll just talk and share their view on game development, technology and concepts

And thank goodness a conference like this exists. Sharing is caring.

bethesda makes crappy fantasy games, do you honestly think he’s worried about them?

Bethesda make the market leader in fantasy RPGs and most of their games have won numerous developer’s choice awards. Talking of the DCA, the 14th annual awards ceremony happens today!

Just today I found out that only a week ago mr. Vávra visited our university, attending a conference about representation of history with a lecture on the topic about Mafia and KCD. It was mentioned right here in the news. I completely missed that. FML

Well, they sell shitload of that ‘crap’ so I would not dismiss them at all

Also if the release of new ‘Scrolls’ would coincide with KCD - then I believe that Warhorse would be really worried

the world itself is not bad, but the gameplay is terrible yes

slightly related. the folks at pcgamer need to step up their research game:

I think they meant the alpha. Surely this is going to cause some issues further down.

related to GDC, not so much (yet?) to KCD
