Multiple Difficulty Settings

I’m currently wherein almost nothing I use a short sword no shield everything dies in 1 riposte

Exactly. Even nerfing myself doesn’t do much. Damage shouldn’t scale with level. It should be static based on weapon. Or number of times you’ve boosted a perk which would be interesting. So multiple riposte perk levels which just boost damage or increase frequency. Not just automatically put into game.

Does the Partying perk involve drinking lots of schnapps ?

I wish aha. I still haven’t found a use for drinking in the game. Depending on armor and stuff ur charisma is already crazy high so I almost win every speech persuasion anyways aha.

If you’re on PC I think there is/are mod(s) to take that green shield out so you have to know when to do it, that might help. Don’t think I’ve heard of anything else yet

Well hopefully there will be mods/updates to maybe remove the shield icon for riposte and maybe add harder/more enemies, faster/harder combat, tournaments would be fun where everyone is in the same gear and single weapon(maybe make blank/matching stats for this). Idk. There will be tons of stuff I’m sure

Or, do unarmed. Throw on some low armor, but you’ll probably want some, and some gauntlets/arms and gauntlets(apparently fists so blunt damage, and if you put armor on them it increases?) Probably the only thing that’s gonna make this “hard” for now aside from completely starting over and never using/getting good gear.

Yeah im sure in time the game is gonna be everything I wanted aha. But I figured if a lot of people suggest something then maybe the devs will actually try to implement it so that the basement game is good in itself and it doesn’t need mods to just make it playable.

Oh for sure

Base* game lol. My auto-correct is just not doing well today.

I’ll never understand the logic to players like you insisting the game become a Dark Souls clone. If the game is too easy for you then why haven’t you tried restarting and playing as a pacifist?

All sarcasm aside, you DO have the freedom to do just that in your game. You’re only limited by your imagination. Basically, consider:

1.RPing as a pure stealth and/or assassin character (which is how I originally wanted to play from start until the game forced me into warrior/knight build).
2.DON’T accept any skill perks
3.DON’T wear any heavy armor. Keep to light armor/ordinary clothes and absolutely NO SHIELDS. DON’T use polearms unless you’re strong enough. Same for bows. Melee weapons & fists only if set upon by bandits, Cuman raiders, and town guards. Yes, you do have the right to flee.
4.DON’T upgrade your gear to keep looking respectable. Just visit the tailor’s enough times to keep your clothing/light armor from falling apart
5.DON’T regularly maintain the upkeep of your weapons. Use the grindstone when weapon stat drops close to 50%
6.DON’T feed Henry on a regular basis. keep him just above starvation level with a noursihment level around 35% to 45% each day
7.DON’T sleep until health is 100% recovered. Keep your health under 70%.
8.DON’T be a prude. Always drink as much as possible each day to retain a perpetual hangover. And don’t take any antidotes for this ever.
9. Don’t try to cheat by collecting herbs in your inventory. EVER. Be sure to stand on the human scat/refuse heap behind every Peasant’s house. Yes this won’t matter a whit to any NPC olfactory senses the way your clothing apparently does. But it will to you from the sense of realism and immersive atmosphere standing in a refuse pile gives.
10.DON’T bathe. Or try to wash yourself. Or launder your clothing. EVER.

All of the above should make existing in Henry’s pixelated world a living hell. Especially where sneaking, lockpicking and charisma are concerned.

If you make a habit of murdering NPCs whenever you feel like it (to gain infamy) besides whenever necessary (to do a shopping spree & get their goods) then this should make for a virtually impossible game…

Best of luck. Don’t forget to report back here and share how much you’re enjoying your self inflicteed BSDM gaming session.

All those don’ts essentially translate into don’t play this game because it’s too easy.

Ha that would be crazy to play through like that though. It’s just too much effort to hold myself back that much.

Search “Immersive Balance” on the Nexus. I’ve only been using it for a bit, but it’s an improvement.

It’s jusy a way to get by until things get balances. Basically dress to look cool and use a mediocre weapons. Don’t worry about upkeep or using skill points unless you want to. With how many quest bugs there are combat/difficulty balance will probably get put on hold

IMO Dark Horizons is the better balancing mod. This one also includes the increase random encounters & NPC spawns in the Road Encounters mod.

I find it hard anyone can consider this game easy. I suggest you take all your armor off and run off to the nearest Cumin soldier. Fight them, with whatever weapon of choice minus a bow, and see how easy it is as you get killed in one, two, or even three hits. If you succeed, you’re good because you understand the concept. I can vouch for myself by saying I’d be among those who die. I find that the only reason fights are easier for me is because of the armor, and the fact the bow can work excellent with one-shot kills to the head. Minus all this, I firmly believe it’s hard.

I have surmised that, despite my objection, I am in agreement with you considering the difficulty setting. This game did not come out made for everyone, but now that the community has spoken, Warhorse has a chance to make it for everyone. On its difficulty now, one could easily put in place an actual “save anytime” mechanic. This mechanic should be offered to be turned off for realism, and the higher difficulty you go, the less exceptions you should receive. Perhaps even making it harder to survive without food or sleep on higher difficulties? Regardless, your suggestion offers multiple opportunities for inclusion with the community at large, and offers improvement with the game.

I am currently doing a naked run. After lvl 8 with a merchants sword all bandits and cumens die in one hit. All you have to do is position you’re self if there is multiple targets. The first bandit camp of the main story when you fight runt was literally he takes I riposte he died. I am naked with nothing but a sword.

I have thought about playthroughs like that. And I am In no way saying it should be adarksouls clone in terms of difficulty. I’m just saying no matter how good of a player you are things should not be dying in one hit, especially when you gimp you’re self which they are. Currently after you get level 8 or so you can take on an entire camp solo. 1 hitting everything, no bow usage. But you’re issue is you see something you don’t agree with and then put words into ppl moth. I spoke on the fact that everything dies after 1 hit once you hit mid level reguardless of gear and combat perks.

Haven’t had the chance to try that one. I might in the future.
