Hi Mafian,
Well I’m not quite sure I’ll be of any help for you
We certainly do have name for every single track of music, but these names are mostly codes so far - nothing which will tell you what you’re about to hear when you play it.
Here is some info which might help you (perhaps). But as you showed creativity before already - feel free to name the tracks as you wish! Who knows, perhaps we will use some of your names in the OST playlist.
(In that case I owe you a beer.)
Theme Music - this is one of the few tracks which has a real name. I called it “Men Of the Ground”, as the Alpha teaser last year was about village life in those ancient times etc.
Samopše Music - in my list of tracks, the name is: Alpha Menu Music.
(…now you see what I mean when I say I will not be too much of a help for you)
Samopše Theme sounds good.
Merhojed - originally I called this track “Town Square”. But as in Alpha aren’t towns yet, Merhojed sounds good to me. Well done!
Kolben’s Stables - that fits perfect. Don’t even ask what for a boring internal name I gave to this one.
Road to Zbyšek’s Camp - another track where I can tell you the name: “Wayside Shrine”.
Tournament Theme 1 - this was acually just a drum test from me, but guys in WH liked it, so we used it for Arena tournament in Alpha 0.4. However I doubt this track will appear in the final version of the game (there isn’t any music in it, actually)
But we might use it as warm-up music for combat (see below).
Zbyšek’s Camp - despite the fact it served as camp music in Alpha 0.4, this music is intended for pub and I call it “Beer and Women” so far. But you can keep it as it is. Thanks anyway!
Cuman’s Camp - this was first adaptive music set for Combat. We have now a better one, more sophisticated (which reacts on the game - it’s already in Alpha 0.5). But I want to use parts of this music for drammatic moments in cut-scenes. I look forward to record this with a live orchestra - it will be a massacre
Tournament/Cumans camp Theme 2 - Well, this is an adaptive set of music for Combat (which doesn’t sound like a good name for a track)
Actually, there are 4 levels of music - depending on how good/bad Henry is doing in that particular combat situation. Your recording contains: warm-up (those drums at the very beginning), even level (most of the track), and favored level (from ca. 2:10). There are two more levels: disfavored and very disfavored, but probably you were fighting too well to hear those. We switch between these levels of music quite seamlessly, but the change of music character is always remarkable.
More on this will be in one of the future video updates, by the way.
Music 1 - this is Village Atmosphere. (Atmospheres are the longer tracks of music for exploration.)
Music 2 - this is Field Atmosphere.
Music 3 - well, this is another Field Atmosphere.
Music 4 - besides of Atmospheres, we have shorter pieces of music in a chamber setting. We call these Nibbles, and this is Nibble for Villages.
Music 5 - Field Nibble.
Music 6 - Another Field Nibble.
Not too much of help, huh? Sorry! I promise we’ll make some nice names for the OST, once the game is finished.
Yes, there is more music in Alpha 0.5. I’m not sure now but the total time was some 35+ minutes, I guess. Btu in order to hear it all, you’ll have to change the locations for quite a while.
Thanks for your time!
PS: Btw., how do you like the music so far?
