I’ve been looking forward to this game for a very long time. Even when it was released I waited even longer because I expected bugs in this massive open world RPG. My first thoughts on the game were, and for the most part are, this is one of the greatest RP Video Games I’ve ever played in my life time. I really love the story and the attention to detail. There is so much love in the design of this game and I am thrilled to see it. I love that this is in a Christian setting which gives perspective to the history of our modern day western civilization. Though I don’t only have high praise I have had some disappointing moments too. In the beginning the game is very smooth (playing on XBone, and soon to be playing on Xbox one-x) shortly after getting to Rattay however the game starts to stutter and it gets pretty bad. Then, you can’t always “talk” to people and sometimes it makes a quest confusing when it is pointing to a person that you “need” to talk to and you can’t speak to them, as with the “in God’s Hands” quest where you need to go to Rovna. Another problem is the pickpocketing. I have almost no trouble picking the pockets of people when they’re walking, but for some bizarre reason they’re much more alert when they’re fast asleep instantly detecting me and even if it is pitch black and I’m out like a flash they somehow know exactly who tried to pick their pocket. Another point in the game I got stuck inbetween a rock and a tree/bush…and there was absolutely no way to get unstuck. I’d prefer to fall through the world or get flung through the air in such scenarios as the fast travel is very strict. Another issue is people always act like your presence in the area is criminal and curse at you if you bump into them. Based on Henry’s disposition honorable/dishonorable I’d like to think he’d say “excuse me” and such pleasantries if he were to bump into someone mitigating the “victim’s” agitation.
All these complaints aside the game truly has a fantastic story as I’ve played it thus far, and the setting is beautiful and wonderful, and the character development both on paper and in the story is marvelous. Well done warhorse Studios. I really hope you keep up the good work iron out some of these bugs, and I very much look forward to your future work!
