My opinion on the game so far (PS4 version)

i dont think so as i said before the pop in only happen in huge cities and are like for 1 sec its not immersion breaking for me

I guess you were not looking closely. Ride a horse at full speed and just look around. Trees, grass pops in everywhere. Even running around your home village you can see a bunch of them (clothes on NPC, building textures)

idk man maybe you are right but what i know for sure this is the best rpg ive ever played and believe me i have played alote of rpg like skyrim/oblivion/witcher 3/dragon age 2 and inqusition/fallout 3,4 by far this is simply the best i had the most fun experience it has everything that i could wish for.

pretty much agree 100% on textures and loading. goodness fallout 4 freezes and crashes were much worse after PS4 launch.

better training would help both lockpick and archery. lockpick ‘training’ is largely try it yourself and if you mess up, miller insults; step by step instruction would be helpful for the poor and cautious player (eg, 1st find sweat spot a few times, and so on - like melee training). vibration could be improved. if you don’t shoot early, archery ‘training’ was a bit of thrown to the wolves. tips or different distances to practice could help.

quit save as temp file (deleted upon restart) is the minimum change needed. no immersion break.

59.99 for cod?
59.99 for fallout 4?
59.99 for bf1?
This game is money well spent compared to those games I listed.

Good lord people, for some of us on the ps4 this awful game is a buggy mess. I tried really hard to play it and was enjoying myself but the sheer amount of game breaking problems was unacceptable. I supported CDPROJECT who gave us the witcher series, which also had problems but at least they fixed them quickly. However, WH studios is not deserving of our support because they released an unfinished, broken product. The patches cause more problems than they were supposed to fix.

I completely agree the game needed more polishing and a lot of bug fixes before release, but I personally didn’t run into many bugs maybe I was lucky and I complete forgive WH as long as they fix the bugs and other issues and I believe they are working hard on that.

and after all, this isn’t like the first game when 1rst I played Skyrim it was really similar to this it had many games breaking bugs once I even had to make a new game, even now it still has bugs, I know we should not use this as an excuse for KCD but still I think its not possible to find all bugs with just beta testers.

man you just can’t expect or compare this game with Witcher series, Witcher 3 is a legend if you expected a game like Witcher 3 from a company that is making there first games your deadly wrong, I 100% expected this game to messy and full of bugs.

but really man I completely agree with you I had my fair share of problem with the game not cuz of bugs but other things like combat becoming very easy at late game and the game doesn’t give you many options to spend your cash in etc…

but ill continue to support WH and am looking forward to there next project.

well sir, I cant agree less - I can compare simply the price: KDC release price was higher than W3. And still, months after release, KDC is a buggy shit (as for PS4) with a medium quality plot while W3 quickly after release become a jewel in a crown of my collection giving countless hours of enjoyable gameplay.

To each there own. Even though they are in roughly the same category, they cater to different audiences. I thought the witcher was passable at best.

sure, depends on preferenecs (W3: vivid colours, plot, setting, humour etc very different) but one thing is sure - quality was superior in each and every field (imo, for consoles only but still, graphics were way better despite its 2015 game). And still - the price was lower. No, this is not fine to sell indy, unfinished game being advertised like it was.

It’ funny…I disagree with you on every point you just made.

@plpi2018

slightly modified from post elsewhere…

Not sure of the value to be derived from comparing a rushed maiden product that nobody wanted to a 5th gen title (Skyrim) and/or a 3rd gen title (Witcher 3).

KCD either stands on it own or doesn’t. Because I’ve made it to Erik quest (die is cast), have +1500 enemy kills, +800k groschen, and approaching 400h of gameplay, I have to say it stands on very solid ground as an enemy hunting game. The main quest line is interesting and shows much promise, but it’s a work in progress (since can’t proceed).

If WH were to stop development on KCD now, I’m not sure if I’d buy another title. being 100% honest. that said, WH hasn’t stopped and that matters. look forward to the changes ahead. final adjudication awaits full DLC rollout and more bug fixing

I also agree with that. But that’s a baseless fear in my reckoning. The better they can polish this game the more copies they will sell on the next one. Reputation is everything. It’s my understanding that their publishers pressured them in to releasing early. But now, With money in their coffers, they will make the game the way they wanted it to be.

i have no real concern about it. just expect some will categorize me as a fanboy and be dismissive. that statement was intended to convey that i’m a huge fan of KCD but i’m not blind to the game in its current state.

watch the documentary. one message (even if unintended) i got was that they gave it a try to make the game they wanted but there was some doubt about the future. how much i don’t know, but some nonetheless. +1mil copies. they have a future… are they well prepared for life beyond KCD’s release? the first major DLC to me will go a long way towards answering that question.

Don’t fear the trolls

:grin: fear neither the trolls nor the fanboys. tell it like i see it. at times it alienates both

In every great project there are always some things that get left on the cutting room floor. I just meant that the final product will meet the standard of their own critical eye.

You guys aren’t fanboys, you just appreciated what WH were trying to do. I dont, my experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. I dont wish WH ill but hope they learn a huge lesson from their mistakes, especially on the ps4 format.

You should check out their documentery on making and releasing the game. I realy do think they are doing the best that can be expected of them under the circumstances. But I’ll tell you what. If the next patch dosen’t significantly improve things for the majority, I will shut up and let the trolling go unabated.
