My personal ideas for suggested improvements

Please push it to another place when it’s wrong here

Hey Guys,

my english isnt the best at all but I will give it a shot. I played now about 30 hours and there are some things that I “personally” dont like. So there are some ideas that I will share with you.

Archery

Ring for Aiming:
I know there are MODS that will add the hidden dot but that is too much easy mode and no fun while bows are so powerful. So what about a medium big ring that only signifies the position of the hidden dot on the screen. Maybe with a very big circle that goes smaller while you bend the bow, while stamina will be drained and that character starts to go shaky.

Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle:
What about the wiggle? Hell its hard enought to learn how to aim correctly. Is the wiggle there to make it for player harder or 'cause it’s to difficult to balance the Archer-NPCs while the wiggle is off? There is a MOD that disables it but than the NPCs hit everything.
My ideas - Only disable the wiggle for the player char and add a growing tremble that increases slowly with the lost of the stamina. Or maybe a key like shift that starts to stop the character breathing and draines additional stamina?

Equipment for better usage:
Compared to the ideas at the top. Maybe implement some items that makes aiming easier. There is a little zone between bow and the wrist of the char, where the arrow will fly to. But for me this zone is to big. Items that will add some visual hints where the arrow will go could be nice.

Perks:
There is not much to say about. Give us some perks while make bows less overpowered. There are so much things that can be increased by perks. Less staming drain but bend the bow is more slow, faster bend the bow but higher stamins drain, lower weight of arrows (or maybe new quiver item that will block a already existing slot when you will use it?), smoothy glowing arrow feathers to see them better (yes, mod exists but 1. its a mod and 2. its too coloured and doesnt fit to the world and and and…

Arrows description:
There are much diffrent kinds of arrows and all got the same description. Please add some more informative descriptions for every kind of arrow. What do they do? Whats the advantages of them etc.pp.

Let it stick:
Why do arrows get faded out in the enemies? Looks weird.

All about the damage:
Lower it. Thats all to say. Specially when you think about the help players with aiming. Lower it. That a hit into the face mostly will be deadly is ok. But oneshot into the stomach or leg? Come on. =)

Melee

Locked sight on enemy:
I understand that the lockon system is surely the best way for the compatibility to play the game with gamepad. But why should it be the same on PC? It feels a bit…clunky…that my sight gets all the time fixed on an enemy. Maybe give us a option to disable the lockon and create a zone around the hitting-zone-symbol in the middle of the enemy. So the player need to hold the little aiming dot only close to the different zones and can hit all the way. So you can switch easily the target by only straving the mouse to the other npc.

Locked movement on enemy:
The same as above. Why not stop the movement locking system for the player character? The NPCs are so damn intrusive with there activated lockon system, that there is absolutly no way to evade them to hit them cheaty in the back or some abuses like this.

Kiss me please:
What the heck is that distance infight between us and the enemies? Sorry, which distance? xD Please add some more feeling of distance because its really claustrophobic that the enemy will stick so close at your own face while fighting.

The old silent movies will greet here:
I think you should provoke that the combat starts, that the movementspeed will slow hard down for player and npcs. Not the speed that you hit and defend yourself. When you run back and forward it feels weird that the heavy armored people “walk” super fast. Its a bit like dancing, not fighting. Movement in fights that kind should be slow, prudent and carefully.

Traders

Assortment:
Maybe I’m wrong but it looks for me like that every trader in every town have nearly the same assortment. Maybe shuffle it a little bit that it makes more sense to watch traders in other towns and dont only use them for repair stuff?

Buy spears and use them as primary:
Could you please balance spears (set dmg down) and make some versions buyable? Would be awesome to use spears as primary weapon. Having them in the inventory or wearing it on the back.

Spears and Bows

There should be no option to wear bows/spears at the same time with shields. There shoueld be only one slot for weapons on the back.

Stealth

Cant see me:
When I get detected one time, there should be no chance to get hidden again only because I got 5 meter distance and started to crouch. Its too easy in most cases I think. Yeah, characters with much training are good in hiding but it should not be possible to get invisible.

ALERT

NPCs searching me:
The most people I think start a fight with the bow. When you try to do it silently more “Robin Hood”-Style, the NPCs will run directly to your position and clump there while searching you.
If you know that, how they react, you can crouch to another position after shooting, the enemies will spot your old position, you shoot again and crouch away…that all the way. Feels a bit cheaty.
When the NPCs get alerted, they should scatter in the area around there camp and search you in every way.

Something like this could be a bit more unpredictable and more fun.

So… I think i’m done.

Thanks a lot and no salt plz. ^^

Greetings,
Flo

I add several tips from my point of view:

Dressing sets:
I would love to have an option to create dressing sets, such as: “sneaking set, town noble set, armour set”. It is annoying to undress all warings ang dress another ones.

Selling items placed on horse:
I would love to access items placed on horse while selling stuff in the shop. Now I have to put everything from horse to Henry and walk overloaded to the shop. After not being able to sell everything, then I have to move things back to the horse.

Dressing sets would be really nice! I basically keep one set of armour for regular travel and another set of heavy armor for tough combat and it would make things a lot easier.

i’m more on the “realism” side of things i guess, but i’ll give this a try :joy:

i think it would be cool to see the higher end equipment be something henry has to order and have fittet, putting it behind an ingame “paywall” as well as a “count down” of sorts, it helps keep henry from going too OP right out of the gates. it also takes away that “off-the-self” plate armour. so, if you know something about the process of getting plate armour, then you know it takes a lot of time to make and fit it. perhaps add a customization option or something, so it truly becomes henry’s special armour.

cheaper and worse equipment to be found on common enemies and allies. this ties in with my personal gripe agains bandits and common guards in full plate. it feels very out of place for the setting of the game, especially considering that the soldiers were mostly self supplied with gear back in those days, hence the variation. and i would think it should include all common NPCs, so there would be a clear diference between the upper upper echelon (knights, lords, etc) and the lower classes, like bandits, most cumans and the common foot soldier. this would also help against easily ammassing a huge tresure before the late game. this sould also apply to the treasures you find laying around, no more amrour or high level weaponry.

some more radiant quests involving bandit/cuman hunting; something similar to that robber baron quest for those who have done that, i really enjoyed it personally, even if it was a very simplistic quest. in addition to that, maybe make it possible to hire mercenaries (no mre than 1 or 2) for tasks that involve fighting that you aren’t able to handle on your own or if you need more firepower for something. however, this bit won’t be all that good without the previous one, where good armour becomes more scarce and thus, damage more severe, so take all this with a pinch of salt and healty scepticism.

that’s all of the top of my head btw, so it might not be entirely practical.

Hi again,

it would be nice when it’s possible to cancel quests and mark more then 3 at the same time. Cancelling bugged quests and restart it should be really helpfully. It will help for cleaning the questlog, too.

Greets,
Flo

Things I’d like to see added to the game:
Children, cats, rats, ducks, swans, crows, goats and ?
Wolves and bears in the woods, plus sounds.
Pick fruit off trees.
Cider?
Give beggars a coin, maybe get a perk.
Tailors should be able to make repairs, like armorers and blacksmiths.
Women’s clothes for Teresa and pick flowers for Teresa.
Pick wild strawberries, blueberries, and anything in the wild you can eat, etc for food.
More adult graphics and sounds for those of us who can prove we are over 65. Maybe you can check our ages through our Social Security Sysem for a small fee we could pay? Or better still through our visa or Master Card?
Buy a business.
Be able to bless yourself with holy water in church.
Things I’d like to see modified:
Less rain with sunny skies.
Being able to pick up things that are not tied or nailed down. I?e. Axes.
People move out of your way when your riding a horse.
People stop bumping into you and cursing you as if it was your fault.

I agree, however I would like crafting to be more fleshed out, so you would need to make your own gear if you wanted a better armor or weapon. Everything above 65 for weapons should be crafted by the player. It is getting too easy at the end of the game, also the bow should be like a real bow, you aim along the line of the arrow, not centimeters beside it.

Less rain with sunny skies.

Sunny sky rain sometimes happen. It’s really beautiful. Keep it as it is but add a rainbow when it happens

Agree with most. I’d like more life to the environments, and more interaction. Children and babies would be cool and add another dimension to things, but because of ESRB ratings, it’s very hard to feature children in games because there’s always some Edgelord who wants to make a baby murder simulator mod or some such.

A double Raindow surely?

Very easy to stop, if the player kill a child, they get teleported into jail

True, but you’re also talking about the introduction of an enormous number of additional game assets, that would cost a lot of time and money to implement and all of which would largely be flair. Don’t get me wrong. I’d love to game worlds brought more to life with children of various ages, but I think one has to accept with game development, there has to be a degree of compromise. Mayhap if they make a sequel/follow up there will be room to explore the possibility if the budget allows for it.
