My son’s laptop (HP) has: Intel core i7 5500U CPU @2.40GHz (dual core) RAM 12GB 64 bit operating system and Windows 8. I want to buy the pre-release for his birthday next week–I know he will love this game–will he be able to play the beta version without any issues (minimum requirements say quadracore and not sure if he has 20GB HDD) or should I wait until the official release?
What GPU is that laptop fitted with? The CPU is definatly below minimum specs…

I have talked with the lead of QA team about you question. The game should run on this system, even if it is dual-core. But we can´t tell right now how well it will run, as the game is not properly optimized yet and still in development.

Do you think he will need to upgrade his CPU for the final version? If not, I think I will go ahead and get the pre-release so that he can play in beta for now–hopefully without too many issues and be ready to enjoy the final version when it is released.
