ight bois ive been playing dis game for a good few days now and ive been somewhat enjoying it. i just got a few issues. the goddamn archery, i understand the games supposed to be realistic and what not but for the love of jesus having anal beads its way too fucking hard, atleast make it to where there is some idea where the arrow is gunna go it pisses me off when there a rabbit 2 feet from me but it takes 17 arrows to fucking hit it. the goddam lockpicking, its fucking retarded i always have the little shit it the gold area and turn the damn thing slowly but the bitch fucking breaks everytime every god damn time ON FUCKING EASY LOCKS its doo doo booty bro. even tho the catagory aint combat ima talk about it (dafuq you gunna do bout it soyboy) fightin pretty difficult but its managable but for fuck sakes every time i fast travel i start getting gangbanged by 4 bandits with fucking pupes on their godamn neck that beat the shit out of me and consume it for nutrients THATS MY FUCKING SHIT. the realism in this game takes away from the fun a bit so ima take a break from this game i love it but goddamn it pisses me sideways
Console? if so the controler on locks is harder I find. and IMHO there is too much shaking at low level for the bow. I am told at higher level things get easier. Like at lvl 12 almost no bow shake.
If you are on PC there is a mod that cures the shakes and another to add the dot for the bow.
ME; on pc with a wireless XBone controller and use the KB/mouse to unlock and the mods I mentioned.
XBox One:
After fighting this issue for about 60 hours of play, I decided to cheat.
After you load the game and have Henry somewhere where you can see the yellow dot WHS provides, cut two thin pieces of colored tape (mine’s yellow) and place them over the yellow dot.
I have the tape on a 70 inch screen and I leave it there.
It’s hardly noticeable during TV viewing, but comes in handy when aiming a bow.
I recommend you also go to Rattay and use the archery range to get a feel of the mechanics of shooting a bow. This mechanics, in the early game, is affected by the “Power” of the bow.
Your “Strength” has to match or exceed the “Power” of the bow.
If the bow exceeds your strength, it will be impossible to hold the bow steady long enough to line up the target.
If you watch closely, after you pull the bowstring back, you’ll see that the horizontally mechanics is predictable. Right to Left.
You have no control over this except that the mechanics will line you up with the target horizontally a couple of times before the bow begins to shake and then fires on its own, unless you sheath it (cancel the shot).
Before I shoot at a target, first I get it in my crosshair (yellow tape), then pull the “Draw” button and wait for the mechanics to line up the crosshairs, Then release. The best place to practice this is at a archery range, and you will get free arrows to practice.
It’s a challenge, but one of the things that makes this game so rewarding.
Practice…
@kirksty healies for my feelies?
That user was bullied by the forum a day ago and this title should be for them
I love that Ricky Gervais was called out for bullying when he used the power of his twitter followers to en masse post about/to a person he was having a beef with.
It was a form of digital bullying.
OP: Your post seems to be intentionally abusive of forum rules, and an antagoniser.
Obviously I am feeding the troll if this is true, by even posting…
but out of interest- I will bite!
The issues you have described are often called out aspects of this game.
Short of building another game version selectable from the title screen that mixes up a whole slew of game mechanics… this game won’t suit everyone.
And games don’t have too.
By targeting an audience and staying true to a vision - this product will OWN a specific market segment.
The issues you are having are natural for many players in the early game,… until they learn that things like building strength affect ability to stabilise a bow.
More time riding the horse will improve the ability to control the horse etc.
Some argue it is stupid to make the game hard initially and then get easier (it is actually the reason I restart often to ‘up the challenge’),… but this is true to form of a skill based RPG.
Character stats and not just controller prowess guides situation outcomes.
Lockpicking gets easier with practice etc.
This is written all over the forum, but I don’t feel you will care. I have a feeling you are here to show us what a grade A troll is.
That being so… I look forward to outstaying you.
If I am barking up the wrong tree- I encourage you to tell me so.
Maybe you truly do just care about improving the gameplay experience.
I can easily put on my ‘big boy pants’ and apologise if need be.
I’m not a typical antagoniser, and in no way believe in fighting fire with fire…
Hope we can (learn to) be friends
i don’t get bullied here. if i did, then those users would have been removed by the mods. or maybe i’m made of thick skin.
aim with the tip of the arrow/middle of your screen/Henry’s hand and follow arrow trails. Also, the more you use it the better Henry gets thus the better you will be. Just gotta go do a lot of archery contests or kill rabbits…they don’t even run when you miss and you can pick up all arrows so if you take your time you should get free experience, even paid experience by the time you cook and sell all the rabbit meat.
In regards to arrow retrieval, if on PC get the colored arrows perk in the bright colored version and use better piercing arrows. That bight red makes finding them sooo much easier to find. Nothing in the forest is that shade or brightness except a certain mushroom
I’m wondering if people who start a thread, by asking for help, ever come back to the thread to see if anyone has given them help?
Think often times it’s venting
Yes. I’ve seen it a few times.
so your not on PC right? if so wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 .
great job bro
PS4 player here. For lockpicking, you have to start with “very easy” locks —“easy” is actually pretty hard in the beginning. You’ll get the hang of using a controller with lockpicking
It’s usually the first perk which changes everything. I remember the first three levels a pain in the arse but then LP was a breeze.
im always here meng watching observing seeing what peeps be sayin
