Need internet connection?

I am unable to play this game without an internet connection on start up. Saying I’m not connected to love servers. Can someone explain why this is?

what is a love server?
I know that you need to be connected with internet on steam… its not playable in offline mode atm

You can’t Play in offline mode? Thats a huge disadvantage for me!

Aye, same here. I can connect, its just a pain for a single player game. I heard somewhere its like to verify the game to prevent piracy.

I fully understand you have to connect once when you Install the game. But everytime you start? Thats a No-Go!
