Some of the features here are neat, but I kinda prefer more conventional forums as well. Yes, you can switch between categories, but this forum IMO kinda makes it hard to follow what topics have / havenât been opened - just imagine when the game gets closer to the release and the number of people here rises a lot, it will be extremely hard to keep up, as everything seems to be just mixed together into one big chaos .
I donât mind there being a character minimum. You know what it (and the like function) eliminates?

The only thing that really left me frustrated early was after clicking into a subject and going back to the main forum page, if Iâd scrolled down clicking âHomeâ goes back into the last thread. You have to refresh the page first.

If your post doesnât have at least 20 characters itâs very likely not worth to be posted anyway.
You know, this is not a chatroom. Itâs a complete forum which should be there for real and serious discussions. Itâs really hard to contribute in a reasonable way without even using 20 characters, you know. Nobody really needs one liners in a forum (only trolls and people not really interested in the discussion maybe)âŠ

You get a message if someone answers your posts in a thread. You can filter new topics and threads with new answers in which you have already posted. The search function is quite powerful and the filtering function as well. If you want to create a new topic the forum is automatically searched for probably matching and already existing threads.
Another neat feature is that everything you write is auto-saved every few seconds. I often accidently erase half of my post and this is the only forum software I know which offers the possiblity to recover your text in the case.
The only features I really miss are votings and stuff like multi-quotes and the possiblity to highlight stuff in quotes and things like that. But I guess they could be added quite easily.
I agree, it just looks very chaotic, because you see everything on the main forum page (and actually, first of all you see like 4 sticky threads) before you apply a filter. I imagine it will be very hard to keep up once the forums are overflowing with people.
If you think the way it is now is tough to follow, some of you guys shouldâve been around here when the Kickstarter phase was going on.

Yup, but I still can see where the OP comes from when saying that he is completely lost. If you donât get the hang of how to use this forum quickly, it is pretty confusing. More than more conventional forums. And letâs face it, it will get people confused. A lot. Just my 2 cents.
I have been following the forum since the start (mostly reading it, anyway), it is only going to get crazier as the development progresses. Well, but thatâs a good thing, because it shows that people are interested in the game.
Maybe, but then again itâs imo just a matter of getting used to it. Itâs different than most of the other forums out there and you need to get a hang of it. If you know the functions itâs pretty good.
Perhaps this little âborderâ will even seperate the people who really want to discuss stuff from the people who just want to chat or troll once the game is closer to release. At the moment most people who regularly post here are quite interested in the game and its development and I hope itâll stay that way.
you can learn this forum in 3 minutes. toughen up.
when you get a job, youâre going to have to start learning how to do something from scratch. might as well practice how now.
i really pity the coming generation. itâs going to be so tough for them.
