Havent played for almost a week, due to not being able to play more than 90 minutes without a crash. Ive just loaded the game up as I saw that it had been patched… I ask, what exactly did the patch do?! Im suffering the EXACT same problems as before. Im on the ‘Rattled’ quest, my last save was at 23:42, when i threw the duel and had to rest at a bathhouse, after that i continued on the main quest to the mine with Ulrich, did that etc. etc., went back to Rattay and just as i was about to enter the tower i happened to enter the world map menu. Then bang, hit with ANOTHER crash. Ive honestly lost count of all of them now, I think i was on 14 crashes in 29 hours before i put the game away, and thats another. I played the game for a whole 78 minutes.
I put it to you Warhorse, why release such an unpolished, broken game when its evidently not optimised for Xbox once you get past the tutorial?! Its £45 of my money i feel is wasted at the moment. I hope you have some idea of compensation for everyone who put their faith in you as a studio, youve had more than enough time to release a suitable patch to at least stop the crashes, but unfortunately it feels like youre just making it look like youre making progress when in fact youre prioritising completely pointless elements of the game, relative to game braking crashes.
I’ve not had a single crash, but I do get these 1 to 10 second game freezes in Rattay.
PC here, haven’t crashed once, no matter the patch. Don’t know wassup in the consoles but I expect the crashes there to be even less frequent.
What new patch? Did it fix lockpicking and saves?
Xbox One X here and no crashes… ok, one crash actually loading the archery contest. It’s amazing how we’re having different experiences on the same console. Clearly something different in your build, the quests, something that the game doesn’t seem to be accounting for very well.
(following applies to v1.1 on X1X)
It is more weird, because I had very bad gameplay (very bad texture loading, low level models/textures, always raining even inside buildings, bad rain textures) during the first half of the game, than it improved in the second half and now when I’ve loaded a save from the first half, it looks acceptable and the game performance also improved. It is weird how it performs on the same console while being on the same version … Looking forward to see today’s patch
Less crashes on PS4 but save files being corrupted is an issue I’ve seen a few people mention. People losing their entire progress, 50 hours down the drain
Damn I couldnt think of much worse. Makes my problems look petty, lol.
Ive put the game down for another couple of days anyway. Not worth the frustration of losing more progress.
I’ve not had any crashes but like some others I do get freezing for about 5 seconds in certain locations
Since the patch everything takes longer to render and pop-in with textures
PC here as well, playing on an SSD, i7, 24GB ram and GTX1080. Set everything to Medium (1080p) but the FPS still crawl around 20-25 when I enter any town. The game also crashes after around one hour. My last 3 gaming sessions ended with a crash and about an hour of lost gameplay each.
This really sucks, I’d like to understand why some people have almost no problems while it’s barely playable for me at all
Id probably guess theres a complex texture that overloads the system when theres also a lot going on, I have used 5% of my 500gb Xbox One S hard drive and then used around 50% of my 4tb external hard drive, so its not a memory issue, maybe a CPU issue. Sometimes it just crashes, with no FPS drop (i.e. i the middle of a forest) and then other times it will crash when entering a town like Rattay and the FPS will be all over the place. Its strange, and im no computer expert. I just hope they fix it ASAP so i can finish the story.
Thats weird. PC and SSD using too. i7 as well but 16gb ram and GTX1070. Graphic on high with 1080p and i have solid 60fps .
Dont know whats wrong so with the game and your system O.o
Days after the update, ive decided to give the game a go for a third time… and to no surprise whatsoever, ive crashed after 90 minutes of on/off game time. Now i have to do arguably the most boring quest ive ever had the displeasure of exepriencing all over again, the Monastery. As soon as i defeated Pious in a fist fight it crashed.
Seriously, Warhorse… what exactly DID you fix with the last patch? Because it certainly wasnt the f***ing crashes!
I had (and am still having to some extent) the same problems. Try this https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/133, basically the problem seems to be that the game hits some of your CPU cores with 100% load in the more populated areas of the map which causes freezing and stuttering. I would have expected these tweaks to be already incorporated in the release version of the game, but what can you do.
You can also try some of these proposed steps https://www.reddit.com/r/kingdomcome/comments/7yzr10/multiple_comparisons_between_real_life_and/dukvv0k/
And if even that doesn’t help, the only other thing I have read that helped someone was to upgrade to Windows 10 (I am running Windows 7 64 bit myself). I am definitely not doing that.
@scbfromnc This might interest you.
40 minutes later and another crash, this time as i was entering Vranik. Yay. I will keep posting until someone from Warhorse acknowledges the crashes, hopefully will save someone from purchasing the game.
My problem hasn’t gone away, but disabling v-sync, limiting fps and fullscreen helps. I also read somewhere about the following procedure which helped get rid of most of my freezes: Go to Task Manager/Performance while KCD is running and you’ll see that one of your cores is maxed out. For me, it’s always core 1 (numbered 0, 1, 2, 3). Then go to the Processes tab and click on “Show processes from all users”. Then right click on KingdomCome.exe and select Set Affinity. Click off the core that’s maxed out and close that window, then go back and Set Affinity to add that core back in. When you go to the Processes tab you’ll see that the load has now been more equally distributed to all your cores and nothing is maxed out. You have to do this each time you start the game. This has gotten rid of almost all of my game freezes, and the ones I have are much shorter now. I still have stuttering in Rattay, but that’s better than constant freezes.
Unfortunately, I’m on Xbox and have to rely on Warhorse to fix it, lol. I was debating getting it for PC but I enjoy gaming a lot more on my Xbox generally.
