Probably unwarranted SJW-outrage, not-being-PC. You know the typical >2015 issues.
I donât get what you mean. What is blacklisted, and where?
I think we all should help Wahrhorse Studios by sharing their content. Just share the trailer all over the place. They deserve it. They have been treated very unfairly by the press lately.
Yeah I noticed this too, only PC Gamer posted both trailers (gameplay one and this one), all other big sites just ignore itâŠridiculous, considering the shit they actually spend their time posting.
the facial animations are so much better now. i think very close to witcher 3 during regular dialog and such and better than witcher 3 in cutscenes
Opinions are great, and thatâs why I always follow mine.
warhorse studios youtube channel is just 500 subs away from hitting 100k
go subscribe, we can make it before release
Iâm going to have to disagree on you here, the trailer was absolutely brilliant and far outstripped the old ones. I donât know how this had any indication of being low production value to you, but this is very demonstratively not the case. Looking at your choice of trailers, we have The Witcher 3
That is a good trailer, but itâs a CGI trailer. After watching it you know basically nothing about the game other than general premise, theme, and how much the debs are going to spend on marketing. Seriously, if this wasnât an established IP, you wouldnât even now what genre this game is, nor any thing about the story. They have their place, but are certainly not what you release when you are less than 2 weeks from launch. They are for what you make when you have lots of money to burn through and want to generate interest before any game play is ready to show (or are unwilling to show because your game is crap and you just want to take the reorder money and run). Take a look at the date of the trailer, itâs form 2013. Years before The Witcher 3 was released. For Warhorse to release a trailer like this now would be a massive waist of money, especially considering the hours and hours of game play available to be seen on YouTube, shattering the whole smoke-and-mirrors act that CG trailers essentially are.
You also have CoD MW2. Not a bad trailer either, it does forgivable amounts of trailer cliches (cuts to black and quite, voice over that sounds nice but doesnât mean anything, etc.). Most of the trailer is a bit of a light show that doesnât really give you a sense of the conflict, any of the stakes (until the very end were several famous places in Washington DC are seen burning , which isnât exactly a new idea)
Finally thereâs the Skyrim trailer. I have seen a lot of praise for that trailer over time, but I donât really see the appeal. The majority of it is landscape shots (while it my be unfair to say, KC:D has far more appealing landscapes than Skyrim) and a bunch of strung together action scenes. They action scenes do a nice job of showing the verity of adventures that are possible for the player, it still doesnât elevate it to anything hat could be considered âthe bestâ. I honestly think that the score is the only reason people think that itâs good. It really isnât that hard to put some scenes to a good piece of music and call it a trailer. I should know, I made some awesome trailers for media arts class that way when I was in grade 10. And I was an idiot when I was in grade 10.
As for music, Warhorse spared no expense and it shows. It is more subtle than the music of Skyrim, it fell to the background and let the actual content of the trailer be the main focus. Yet the music had at least the same level of emotional impact on me as more bombastic scores like that of the Skyrim and the Mass Effect 2 trailer, which imo puts it a step up (yes Iâm saying that Warhorse made better trailer music than Two Steps from Hell, if anyone wishes to challenge me to single combat send me a PM).
Another nice feature of the music in the KC:D trailer is how well it works into the trailer. I know I just said putting a montage to nice music is easy to do, but this is different for several reasons. Firstly despite the amazing music, the Warhorse didnât fall into the trap of putting a bunch of scenes up and calling it there; there has clearly been a lot of thought put into this trailer. Secondly it isnât just a visual pairing, the audio is also perfectly synchronized. There is quite a lot of noise in this trailer, and a lot of the sounds, whether they be chiming bells, clashing of arms, cheering and screaming of soldiers, or mounting up on your horse, the music manages to incorporate all these ambient sounds to the point they can contribute to the score.
Are you just not counting all the others? There are some seriously beautiful and well thought out shots in the trailer.
I think you and I both have very different metrics for what is considered epic or awe inspiring, and likewise what is dull and boring. If you still think the trailer is bad, that is your prerogative and I respect your opinion. However, my prerogative is to rank this trailer among some of the best ever made.
yep, and the church bell syncing up with the music was a great touch. can you imagine the trailer team for a call of duty or the dozen ubisoft franchises coming up with something like that while they spastically throw some rap or house music over random 1 second gameplay clips.
lol you actually believe those medicore trailers(baring witcher 3âs teaser[not a trailer] actually got people to buy those games. oh lord. let you in on a little secret. besthesda and activision have the gaming media well under their control. if they had to rely on some ugly military game with high pitched narrator or some boring fantasy âmuh dragonsâ rpg game overladen with a bombastic, unimaginative, and repetitive chrous, theyâd have sold twelve copies. twelve copies exactly. they way you sell a game is to get views, get as many ads out there, as many âjournalisticsâ talking about it at various mainstream outlets. warhorse might not have the support of the mainstream press, but they wonât need it. once streamers, youtubers, and smaller outlets start talking about it, those mainstream sites will look like douchebags and will have to put out content about. and when they lie, they will get called out. controversy will help sell this game as well because controversy also=more eyes and free advertisements.
Weâre crossing into the zone of blind fanboyism here over my opinion, which, yes, was my opinion.
I didnât really like the last trailer. Some people might like it, and I might be wrong, but thatâs okay. None of you have to rush to battle stations because someone is wrong on the internet. This, right here, is a forum. And forums are for expressing thoughts, opinions and ideas. Which everyone can do freely.
So I shared mine. Even added some arguments why I feel how I feel. You canât make me like the trailer no matter how many times you say Iâm wrong.
What about my post indicated blind fanboyism? And in what way have I forced my opinion on you? From my post:
And I provided argument in my post as well. I could have made more but my post was getting long enough.
The trailer shows some really nice game features. The music is nice too but itâs not from Kingdom Come Deliverance. The trailer shows a huge improvement in animations you will notice that the footwork during combat is much better than before.
And here comes the detail analysis.
The Yays
- 01:02 - 01: 05 - The two soldiers stands in different poses but are clearly ready for attack, as right has his sword in a half-swording pose already and the left one has his sword on his shoulder. The wlaking animations of the half-sword solider are very subtle and fluid. Another plus are the taunts/warnings and it is a very good depiction that they donât attack you if you do not behave aggressive yourself.
- 01:10 - 01:11 - A perfect animation, where the soldier puts the hand on the place, where the sword hit.
- 01:12 - 01:!3 - Another perfect transition of fluid animation. the running bandit starts to limp after a few meters with a very fluid transition
- 02:01 - Nice half-swording
- 02:03 (Frame 3699 )- Blood splatter is spawned at the right position
The General Nays:
- Sword sparks are spawned after each hit. They should be spawned randomly.
- Sword sparks are also spawned after hitting the armor. They should be spawned very scarce if the armor is hit and more if swords hit each other.
- Sword sparks are too bright, so they are very visible at daytime, the should be less saturated so that they are barely visible in daylight
- Swords do not bend, even if it is for a few frames, they fights would look more dynamic if they would bend.
The Nays
- 01:05 (Frame ~1956-1965) : The sword hit the visor and the eye of the solider. However, the animation then plays out by pulling the sword to left, disregarding the fact, that the sword tip is inside the enemies eye. A better solution would be that the sword would be pulling the sword backwards for a few frames and then pulling it to the left. Moreover no wound/blood is being seen on the eye of the solider afterwards . The hit blood particle effect is too extreme.
- 01:07 - After a successful block of the enemy a blood splatter particle effect is spawned, which looks weird
- 01:21 - Sparks after hitting head of the soldier
- 01:58 - 01:59 - A pommel strike in the armored belly spawns a blood splatter
- 02:03 - Arrow disappears
- 02:03 (Frame 3704 )- Blood splatter is spawned at the wrong position
The Model Nays
Already known issues, for the sake of completnesss
- 00: 31 - 00:33 - Cumans have no scabbards with suspensions
- 00:34 - 00:36 - Some soldiers have only halberds and no scabbards with suspensions
- 00:45 - 00:46 - First right guard has no quiver, second right guard has not scabbard with suspension
- 00:48 - 00:50 - Guards have no swords
- 00:57 - 01:00 - Worst scene so far, that shows that scabbards are missing. Henry holds his (not visible scabbard) and draws the sword perfectly out of it.
- 01:02 - Both soldiers are missing their scabbard and suspension
- 01:13 - Nearly every halberd wielder who looks like a soldier, does not have a sword.
- 01:16 - Sir Hanush of Leipa is missing his sword,
- Sir Radzig is missing his scabbard and sword,
- Sir Robert is missing his suspension,
- Captain Bernhard is missing his scabbard and suspension
- 01:42 - Cuman archers misses quiver strap
- 02:01 - Dead soldiers have no scabbards
- 02:02 - Cuman has no scabbard
- 02:03 - Soldier has no scabbard
Is it not? Where is it from?
Umm, i might be wrong here, but seems to me that this video has old footage mixed in with the new stuff, might be why. Because that scene was definitely in an earlier trailer.
