Newcomer Feedback

Hi Everybody,

I will just post my initial feeling about my early experiences with Deliverance

I started making a stroll around the village, and the first impression is about the visuals, they are simply amazing, it look really beautiful, but most important it look cohesive with the theme, I could feel that I am in an actual part of that region, the feeling of distance is there and the close details too.

After I start to notice that the character was a bit too much in a hurry at the moment, I’d prefer to have a slower pace as default, then the actual speed would be a kind of “jogging” that could be held for some time and finally the sprint, feel ok like it is.

After I have started the actual quest, first impression is like I should be hearing recorder voices because of the delay between them, as nothing was heard I started fast to hit escape for all dialogues, too much time to read, should maybe add a button to skip instead

The whole story is ok, but I wish dialogues would be more smart, at the moment it doesn’t feel right, i manage to finish all the quests after multiple times using a “what didn’t I clicked already ?” instead of carefully choosing the dialogues and understanding where am I going, I liked the option to use alternative skills to get the information’s, I hope this in the future that the result is relative to the personality of NPC’s (not just skill based)

The Archery was at start quiet annoying while trying to find the right spot relative to the bow to shoot right, also the shaking is a bit too early and strong at my taste, just think about hitting a way further target i am sure to miss all the time, also we have a “spot cursor” marking the center of view all the time but not with the bow, was fun to notice, I would like to find a better way to aim precisely in the future, but surely not any kind of reticle anyway, I have not practiced bow much but i didn’t use my sleeve to help me shoot.

Finding plants & charcoals was a pain as the detection box appeared at strange moments, sometimes I point at it and nothing happen, so often I have to turn around to find the right position, but it’s good that there is no “big blue highlight” seen from the distance, I like to actually have to search for once and not having a magical radar.

The Alchemy Bench is very confusing, I managed to make I potion while I believed i would not succeed, was not grinding Charcoal, a few times was not having ability to put the reagents to work with, but the global setup and feeling is very good

About the NPC behaviour, It’s globally ok, sure they need a lot more work to feel like they are actually doing something meaningful but at least when looked from far away they look good

Well I’ll stop myself there as I feel I am already getting too long to read without boring everyone

Guys you have a really great objectives for this game there, I really love it, because of this I have big expectations, please accept my encouragements and I hope I can help a bit with that pledge and feedback.

best regards

PS: Didn’t understand why I wasn’t able to put that topic elsewhere on the forum than here, sorry then if not at the right location.
