No more random encounters

Sorry but this doesn’t appear to work for me. I’ve only tested Fast Travel, and will give wandering about a go next time I get to play.

Doesn’t seem to work for me either.
Before 1.3.1 my game was so bugged I decided to start again, as it ruined my experience.
Now after 1.3.1 some of the bugs were fixed, but another lot of them appeared, such as this one.

This is getting a bit frustrating, becouse I am very eager to play this game. The bugs are ruining the whole experience.
No random encounters, can’t learn advanced mace strikes from Bernard, poor performance…

Sooo… waiting for 1.4 I guess.

I don’t have any random encounters on my 1.3.1 playthrough, but after loading on of the first autosaves of my 1.2.x playthrough, I’ve been able to have them. [altho they are very rare]

I’ve just begun writing over my previous playthrough as that seems to be the only way to still have encounters. I loaded a save from right after being brought to Rattay, then tested by fast traveling between Rattay and Talmberg. At first I didn’t think I was getting any, but finally I got 3 out of 25+ trips. Once I noticed I DID have some in this playthrough, I used the codes mentioned earlier to ramp up the encounter chances, and now I get them constantly. Which I think is better than 1 per every ten trips.

The codes don’t work for some people because there really are NO encounters in their game. But if you load up a save where you did have encounters, it should keep them. I tried the code on my 1.3.X playthrough, and nothing happened.
Been playing for over 10 hours on my old playthrough and have still been able to get encounters.

So if you are missing encounters in your new 1.3.x playthrough, try loading an old save on your 1.2.x playthrough… Sucks to have to overwrite your old saves, but it’s better than having no encounters at all!

Post back if this works for you as well.

Can’t load a pre-1.3.1 save, as I overwrote the save when starting a new game after the patch came out.
I don’t like having many saves. Guess it’s a mistake! :wink:

then change whgame.dll file with the modded one and set your user.cfg with the command I gave you

I did do that… That’s how I cot the command to work on my 1.2.x playthrough. It did NOT work on my new 1.3 playthrough because the entire encounter system is broken.

I’ve had zero encounters manually or fast travel since the latest patch. and it takes so much away from the game. the fast travel encounters were 1 of my favorite parts to the game. you can’t just fast travel and get to your destination shit might happen along the way.

If people want to downgrade, i guess this tutorial will work for KCD too (not tested because i am archive the updates manually)

What happens to the debug when the team patches the game? Do you unbug what has been changed? Or does the patches re calculate the console commands automatically?
