I played the beta I don’t even know how long ago but could of been a year. I just fired it up again and no updates for this whole time? Is this game still in development?

Yes, it is about a half a year since the beta has been launched.
And yes, the game is still in development. Developers just decided to fully focus on the final version. As you may have noticed, the game has been delayed and this is a way to save some time.
