As many of you know, in stealth games it is the “custom” to give the possibility of using non-lethal attacks, sometimes even after the player character has been spotted.
It would be cool to see this for once implemented in a role-playing game too.
Say, Henry’s assigned a mission to sneak into a castle and take/steal some documents or key or whatever. There are servants. One of them spots him and wants to run to alert a guard or his master. What to do? If Henry has no other options but to run away or kill the servant (or you to load the game), down the drain goes either the mission (retry later?) or Henry’s heroism. (Variant: the servant is close to discover Henry: he enters the room where Henry is in and closes the door. There is no other exit, no other opened door. What to do? etc.)
