Yes, I wholeheartedly agree…
It wasnt right to reply to your “even whitedragem should concede”…notion at the end of that post;it was a thread I had created; one I had even tried to keep ontopic initially (actually trying to have posts kept relevant).
If I had offered a defensive responce at any level, the few zealots accusing me of working for WH because I have an opinion different to their own ‘anytopic OT rants’… it would have likely led to the death of a perfectly workable thread.
One I knew WH to be reading…
Yes; If I had been at any company meetings come the week after launch I would have proposed very different strategies to meet the market.
(Yes- an official info channel via video updates being a large part of it).
We dont really comprehend what the t3am are going through.
Language barriers to a world market? Quite likely…
And every country raises a different style of humour etc. I do think their cust relations team could benefit from being outside their home country.
All the same- this is but a brief moment in time. I dont need to sound judgy on them.
Kinda comes with being a parent (phenominal patience)
I dont know the studio, and can only emphatically understand them through their actions (or inaction).
What I see?
Unyielding resolve to make their vision.
It never stopped just because a few tweens and ‘foot in mouthers’ yell loudly that ‘they dont care’; I see wikkid amounts of effort to right an oversight,a few bugs, and a few quest glitches.
They have had misfortune w/r (with regards) to patches to fix exacerbating some other issues (all for some users).
I get that part of their oversight was letting out a product that might not work for everyone.
I dont think it is as evil intent or other nonsensical descriptions… they have a product they deserve to be proud about achieving. I look forward to when they can sit back and be acknowledged.
I personally see their product as saleable, and well made. I know this flies against the grain here, for some, and those ‘some’ are very vocal.
I do not deny others their ‘sufferances’ if thats how they want to feel.
(I laugh, not out loud, at the users who troll this forum daily to complain and make out like they are being required to do so ‘in order to get update info’. And then blame a game studio for their time on the internet as well as for making a miserable game (not my opinion)- the only consistant thing in their life is the misery they take with them in everything they do)
Many people can come here and get support/celebrate with a (like minded) community and also be close to what is happening/latest info with this game.
The more rational I sp3ak in threads the more direct dialogue with QA testers (@WH) and others seems to happen.
Being here is great. Ruthan has technical tweets with DV and the combined/shared knowledge that can be found here is fantastic.
We just have to choose what diet we wish to grow up on. (Id like a healthy one devoid of anger and focused on nurture).
I did inbound support via call centres for many years (managed a couple too) and the customers screaming the most often just need a lil help in a timely respectable fashion and they become very happy again, or whatever they most like to be…
The internet is where many socially odd people can accrue in largish groups and get swept up in their own voice. If their voice is sound- thats a good thing… but when people who cant find a group (usually due to their social skills) jump from forum to forum being crazed unreasoning evangelists for disinformation and distraction… it becomes an issue.
I do not wish to force change peoples will. Or talk over them or devalue right thinking.
I would like to be able to jump into a thread with a given heading and not have to waste half an hour trying to find the meat amoungst thirty off topic rants saying the same things I just read by the same people in fifteen other threads (none of which is the topic of their angered assaults).
This isnt personal.
Anyone angered by my words- deal with it- you are actually just angry. My words might reveal that, but it isn’t a me-you thing.
When I write/reply to some specifically it is generally with an awareness that others more fitting to my response might read it as well.
Nobody needs to do ego warfare. It doesnt help.
This forum should prove an exception to the norm. Generally throughout computing history-RPGers were a select bunch.
Diablo and Skyrim did a lot to break down those walls.
Whilst I like it when games can appeal to many, KCD is highly misunderstood by people buying based on graphics, and system usage… (I have installed Crysis hundreds of time but mostly as a tech demo/way to see if a new build is stable under load…never actually played the game to completion; it doesnt interest me).
When crysis came out I knew it would only be a matter of time until someone used cryengine to make a medieval role playing game.
KCD is the first new release title (sans some online competitive games) I have bought in many years. I even waited a half year for Persona (5) to drop in price and havent preordered Ni No Kuni II.
Whilst I could go all ‘medieval on their ass’ for the release they gave me and having to read through these forums; being older than twenty, I have enough maturity to recognise I actually want to be on these forums and the game is actually pretty effin brilliant and is only a small block of time away from garnering 9-10 review scores for the rest of its known life.
I can wait. (Again- I am older than ‘that seventies show’)
