NPC's committing crimes/random NPC events?

So I came across something surpising earlier. As I was strolling through Rattay in the evening, I heard a guard yelling stop and saw a guard chasing after an NPC (didn’t see if they had a name). Honestly don’t know what happened to the NPC.

Just the day before I also caught two NPCs beating each other up near a doorway but there was no indication of why it was happening (tried to stop it but they ignored me lol).

Are there more random events with NPCs like this and ar these supposed to be the reasons why we occasionally find an NPC in the pillory?

It amused me and I wanted to know if there were more I should look for, lol.

The “Thief!” happens to me whenever I come near the first house in any city. there’s a thief running towards me and seconds later the guy chasing him yelling “Catch the thief!”. it was already there on release. can’t believe you haven’t seen before as I see it each time I enter a city and sometimes after exiting city. was cool the first time, but then it became boring as it is litterally the same house every time.

They need to add more random events in the game, i want to see people running around sometimes and not just walking slowly.
There should be more NPC’s on roads, plus i think we need moving carts and random NPC’s on horses.

If you follow bandits who are alone or other NPCs committing crimes you may see them get caught by a guard, they’ll bring him to either a prison or the bailiff and if you continue watching the next day they’ll be put on the pillory while someone reads his crimes. And after a while (usually 1 day, but it could be different depending on crime, not sure) a guard will get him out again and they’ll just go on their way again.

Aww, so it happens more frequently for others? I figured that had to be why there were NPCs in the pillary lol.

Is there any benefit/repercussion to giving the pillary NPC a drink? I give them water but haven’t taken note of reputation in this game because…my Henry doesn’t give a f what people think in this playthrough lol.

i’ve spotted one but its rare

They do when it’s raining. Agree with the carts etc. Need more of these type of things.

Giving them something to drink increases your reputation, but you can also level up stats by punching them (definitely don’t kill them though).
