Ok now i'm going to jump on the band wagon

I can see that lol, that’s the whole point of my comment. They charged people that much money for an unfinished game.

must be lonely!!!

Whenever a patch is out, my Save Game mod no longer allows unlimited saves.

Right there is my first indicator that code was changed during the patch.

Nobody deserves a game that won’t play if they paid for it. But there’s enough legitimate things wrong with the game that we don’t need to rant and rave over a personal disappointment as if it is the grandest offense visited on the natural world.

I have several weirdo bugs now too. I have been expecting it- I am on PC. I use several mods. Mods are not software that the developers can use for testing as if they developed that software, and when I use mods I accept that I use them at my own risk.

yes that sucks. I’ll probably need to start a new game. I’ve known for 20 years that mods have the potential to do this to video games. I can’t know if the mods are responsible unless I clean the install up and start again from vanilla, but I can make a good guess that mods are at least partly responsible.

I’m quite confident that they were not sitting there, on feb 12th, with an unfinished game, and setting the price at §60 all on their own.

Again, they have a contract with the publisher deep silver, and I’d bet my last shirt that the publisher not only has a huge say in the release date question, but also has a thing or two to say, when it comes to pricing.

Also, I am rather confident claiming that release dates and prices are usually set quite some time before hand.

Basically it boils down to the same reason why they did not evade that iceberg in April 1912:

They did not willfully rn the ship into that Iceberg, but when they realized what was coming, there was too little time left to effectively do anything against it.

A 270-odd metre long ship doesn’t turn instantly on a dime, and when they noticed they needed to turn, they had not enough time left, to actually do it.

Comparing the Titanic to a game lol? The company has full control on how the game should run, If what you are saying then you are telling me that Warhorse knew that there game was bugged and still continued with deep silver to publish it, instead of informing deep silver that they need to push the launch date to fix some major bugs before releasing to consumers. Yet now here we are with a game that can be barely played without experiencing suttery, bugs and game breaking glitches.

Of course they are set at times, but they are rough estimates given to the public they do not have to release the game exactly as they said they would. Also you don’t understand communication very well between companies, Deep Silver as I would know it wouldn’t allow a game to be released if it wasn’t ready to be released and if Warhorse said something about it, we wouldn’t have thousands of people complaining that they paid for a Triple A game that doesn’t meet basic standards and promises.

It’s a grandiose and slightly odd analogy to be sure but the point is that they did not envision the release being like that. They very ambitiously changed some fairly major things very close to release. Unwise? perhaps, but they were confident enough to do it; some sort of risk analysis was done and they took that chance.

The very real upside is that future development and patches are made on a better foundation, while the downside is that players get mad. Disappointment is natural and proper when this situation comes up, but personally I can understand the situation. I don’t forgive it, since I never thought it was worth condemnation beyond the natural and reasonable disappointment they would make some percentage of players feel. A flawed release is what we had and we have a flawed game, and the devs are working to resolve it. In my own experience, the game works fine, with the exception of the 1.4 patch. However I’m on 1.4.1 and all seems fine now; the 1.4 bugs I had were dialogue bugs and they are gone.

WH is going to address biggest issues- biggest from their perspective- first. Some wag will say “Was HD audio a bug fix?” to which I’d reply no, it was content ready for release so they released it, there’s no evidence I see that something like that was done instead of bug fixes.

As long as they fix the bugs that they should of before release and add some sort of free DLC or modding support for PC and CONSOLES then I don’t see this game dying soon. I love the game, It’s a breathe of fresh air and it’s a new experience, it can get boring since I wish there was more combat and stealth encounters, such as respawnable bandit camps or infinite bandit camp quests. Just so that you can keep playing and if modding does come to console (Which I personally play on) I can see this game thrive.

I do not envy the console users. They need some love too.

The only problem is that Microsoft and Sony both have to agree on it and sony being the odd one out not liking external assets put into games for legal reasons I’m a little concerned. But I believe they will allow it and if Warhorse adds modding into consoles, I’m gonna be playing this game for a long time.

PS4 user here, and regardless of mods, I can see me playing this game for a very long time. Thankfully, i’ve not experienced any game-breaking bugs (yet?). I’m in the middle of the monastery quest, and am enjoying that so far. I can see how it can be problematic, but I’ve read enough tips to see how I can probably get thru it.
I must also say that, for the oft-complained about $60 cost, I find it very well worth it for the almost daily enjoyment I’ve gotten from this game. But then, I’m not a hard-core gamer (last game I bought was probably a Prince Of Persia for PS2). I’m a history buff, not much of a combat guy, and find this game hits all my buttons.
