Optimization - 8-14 FPS on GTX970?

From low to very high settings I’m getting a constant 8-14 FPS. I’ve seen people on the forums with lesser PC’s getting 25-35 FPS, how’s that possible?

Bought the game yesterday, was so excited to play but it’s just waaaay too frustrating to play for more than 5 minutes, so I feel that I have nothing to show for my $49 that I paid. I understand it’s BETA, but I expected to at least be able to play and help improve the game via feedback, but I can’t do so as I really can’t stand the lag.

Here are my specs:
8 Core Intel i7-4790 @3.60 GHz
Nvidia GTX 970
16 GB Ram
MSI zh87-g43 gaming motherboard
750 Gold Antec PSU
Windows 8.1
What else is there…?

Anyway, I can run any modern game on Ultra graphics without any problems, Witcher 3, Battlefield 4, Star Citizen, and anything else really. Don’t understand how I can’t get the game to run properly on the lowest settings on KCD.

I also read in another thread that optimization is not a priority right now, and I’m not too happy about that to be honest because I’ve been looking forward to playing this game.

Is there ANY way to at least get the 30 FPS other GTX970 users get? I read everywhere that the game is so CPU-heavy, but only uses 7-10% of my processing power. I did a whole lot of tests and troubleshooting last night but can’t seem to solve this issue.

Please assist

Right now we unfortunately can´t really offer support here. Optimization is a priority right now, but not the optimization of the Beta but of the final game, as the Beta is just temporary anyway. We don´t know why some people get really good FPS while they are bad at other users. But this will for sure change with the final and optimized version.

Hi vstadene,

I got a similar problem with my 970GTX. It depends on the regions and the objects around me.
Everyone is aware that the game is not optimized yet and that thinks will run wayy much better and smoother on release. As the ComDev mentioned they are optimizing the game meanwhile they develope. Im confident people with High cards are going to enjoy the game once it is released :sunny:

Maybe it is with that 3,5 GB VRAM thing? On my GTX 780 I have about 30 FPS at maximum settings.

I mostly get higher FPS. Some thiings I have that may differ from you…

Not installed into program files, or any other UAC enabled area.
Not installed into the same drive as windows or my swap file.
Vsync off (but with a Gsync monitor no tearing from that option).

I’m comparing FPS in a routine environment near the beginning of the Beta, but it does drop to much lower values during the end battle. Caveat - only tested the final battle in Beta 1 - I’ve not run through in a single session that far since the new Beta was released - I noticed a slightly higher FPS in general early one but haven’t been as thorough this time around as it is mostly the same.

ITS a BETA ,NOT THE RELEASE VERSION XD
