Just got an update from a Dev over on Reddit.

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all your patience. Below are the latest patch notes for Steam. Stay medieval!

Patch 1.4.2 - April 9th

Fixed issues:
• A major bug that crashed the game at various places has been fixed.
• Quests notably affected by this bug include Sport of kings, Pestilence, Questions and Answers.
• Fixed issue with missing Erik in the quest called The Die is Cast.
• Other minor bugfixes.

Known issues:
• [Rare] You can lock on a non-existing opponent.
• [Rare] Attacking stops working.
• [Rare] Random character spins while blocking.
• Player with an equipped bow cannot be dismounted.

The 1.4 patch for consoles is still on its way! We wanted the patch to come to console players last week, so we are hoping for the release for the patch to come this week.

Nah, just the stuff I’ve shared here. Hopefully in the next day or two…but I’d be pretty happy if I got home this evening to find an update waiting.

100% appreciate the candor.

WH has a bug tracker (seen it in Daniel’s tweets). with the imminent and near term releases, would be appreciated if you had access to it to communicate a little more useful info. in the future, would be nice if we could see description of bugs fixed (at least all the ‘major’ ones).

what about 1.42 for GOG?
is that why galaxy says unknown version?

edit: 1.42 hit GOG too I guess as it is updating with a several GB update. YUP it was!

Don’t know about the mods because i did a fresh installation at some point after 1.4.1, but i do know that the ctd when you turn in the sport of kings quest is fixed. So that’s already a +

I don’t think glitches such as this one should be the focus of War Horse. If people want to intentionally break their game and ruin the experience then they should be allowed to.

There are people trying to play this game properly but being stopped from doing so by game breaking bugs. These are the bugs that War Horse should be focused on.

If people want to spoil the experience with duplication glitches then we should just let them. Unless you actually put the effort in to carry out this glitch you will never encounter it in your game, so it really isn’t a problem to the majority of us who just want to experience this game as it’s supposed to be experienced (but are at this point unable to).

My game is now at version 1.4.2 and the problem is solved. We’ll see if another troubles rise. Thank you Warhorse…for now…

1.4.3 is coming soon…the test machine just updated to a new build 20 minutes ago. Looks like they’re on track to test and release this week.
