Pausing during Cut Scenes

So you have three trillion DLCs now. That’s cool and all. I was just wondering how far along you are in getting a pause button during cut scenes? Just curious. That would be nice if you could get that done.

Otherwise, can you give me my money back? I’ll give you the game back.

Then I think your S.O.L. Very unlikely that is gonna happen.
3 trillion?? 4 and 2 movies, ya.

The escape key allows to stop and or skip a cutscene.

Have a look in the settings part, where you can see what the different keys do in different situations.

I don’t want to skip the cutscenes. I want to PAUSE the cutscenes. Come back to them later. You can’t make a game in love with the sound of it’s own voice and not have a way to pause cutscenes. (No, seriously, this game is sooo in love with the sound of its own voice. It’s written completely in Purple Prose.)

Good luck.

Do the consoles allow recording?

I suppose we could record the cutscene and playback in our leisure…

I chime in on this topic as I have been caught out by this as well.
Games with long cutscenes should allow spacebar to pause or some such.
I wont tab out of the game in windows, or else I have to redo ingame graphics settings when changing borderless mode back to fullscreen (been that way for a few patches now)…

Kinda limits the ‘downtime’ play hours if I cannot answer a door/answer a phone or answer the needs of a crying child.
Compounded by the save mechanics (for the record: I am a fan of the sleep to save system), not being able to pause a cutscene meant I had to replay a few long game sections when I first got into the game.
I dont mind replaying a game if I error and die… but missing out on a cutscene because a loud train is going by (happens to a friend regularly)(yes; subtitles) is an oversight.

Personally- I put ‘pause during cutscenes’ about tenth on a list of dire changes due since day one to be addressed now that the devs are ‘on top of it’… eg save game corruptions fixed, not dying when dismounting a gorse etc.

The game has come along way.
Maybe we could make the HUD optional and/or self defeating when not needed…
Certainly an option to remove the crosshair (seperate to HUD)

I know these arent on the topic- but I dont want to read the niggles threads (yet) where everyone lists what they feel the game needs - its well over one hundred posts and I feel it would make me see more warts…

Fix the building model (first shop in Skalitz, no doubt reused elsewhere)… thats kinda epic and I cant believe game launched with that.
Others here have identified themselves as playtesters, and myself and many others have given much feedback. These things not being done makes the studio simply look uncaring.
The studio had a free pass from many fans until they pulled the shenanigan with an unpolished DLC that likely gimped everyones base game in the process to rush it out.
(‘Compromises have been made’ is an understatement)

The studio has shown a lot of disrespect toward users and doesnt seem capable of acknowledging that.
Healing doesnt begin until accountability is shown.

Im not against Warhorse. I do highly respect their maiden product.
I do see a lack of coordination that could be easily remedied with some proper Public Relations.

Given the official forums SHOULD be a place for the devs to exist happily with their playerbase- it is not in their favour to fight against public expectation.

Many are willing to cut them some line…
Unfortunately I have to hold the old candle up to them ‘fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I pee on thee’ (or however it goes)

If Warhorse could be more human (they have been lately) then we all start to treat them as such.
Hiding in some ivory tower and ignoring the customers is mad.
Trying to make more money from DLCs when you havent sold a third of the potential unit sales of the base game (that is worth vastly more) is mad.

Pausing during cut scenes… not so hard to implement.
Self defeating hud- a wee bit harder.
Configurable crosshair- very easy…

Not being able to do these things over many many months just makes the team look amatuer.

Not discusing these things makes the studio look childish.

I dont believe this r18+ rated epic game that took years to make is the work of childish amatuers.
I keep my eyes on the horizon. …

I actually like the saving system. It keeps me from doing what I did in Skyrim which was saving every ten seconds and if I did something wrong or made a mistake I just reloaded it. In KCD the fact that you can only save at night when you sleep or with schnapps means you must carefully consider your choices. You must make a schedule for your day. I only do one major or risky quest a day, and if I die or say something stupid I just restart the day. I like it better this way.

That would be perfect for screenshots and console users to have a alternative mode to Ansel

On PS4 you can pause the cutscenes by disconnecting/turn off the controller
