PC version 1.2.5. Run/Walk Doesn't Toggle Properly

In the PC version, the Run/Walk “toggle” (Caps Lock key by default) is not working properly. It actually takes 4 presses of the key instead of 2 to toggle between Walk and Run modes. It goes like this:

Suppose you have not touched Caps Lock so far in the play session so you’re in the default movement mode. In this mode, if you hold W you walk, but you can run as and when desired by holding L-SHF for as long as you want while you’re also holding W.

Now suppose you accidentally hit Caps Lock by mistake when you meant to hit L-SHF. You’re not stuck in “Walk” mode. L-SHF no longer works at all. ALL you can do is walk. Having recognized this, you hit Caps Lock again but this has no effect. You’re still stuck only being able to walk.

The only way to be able to run again is to hit Caps Lock twice more. The next time does nothing: you can still only walk and L-SHF is still disabled. It’s only when you hit Caps Lock the 4th time that you get back to being able to run.,

This is very annoying, especially in things like the “Run!” quest, where this functionality can easily get you killed repeatedly. Please change it so Caps Lock properly toggles with only 2 presses instead of 4.

Actually it should only Take only 1 Press Not 2.
Caps - change walk/Run
LShift - sprint

Are you using a Notebook or Tower? Do you have the latest drivers die the Keyboard? Did you remap any Keys? Which OS are you using? Tried restarting the Game? Tried Riding a Horse with different speeds (gallopping and so on)? Are you playing a old save or a new Game?

I’m on a Win7 64 bit machine, v 1.2.5 of the game

No issues with toggling between walk and run.

Try to test by swapping in a Known Good Keyboard. Do a thing called a “double swap”, it’s standard in the troubleshooting arena.

Install a Known Good keyboard onto your machine. Take your Suspect keyboard and install in on a known good machine. Note what happens.

if the problem “follows” the Suspect keyboard, then it’s probably the keyboard. Verify that the problem is re0-inteoduced to your machine by re-installing the suspect keyboard on the machine it was on originally.

If the problem returns, you have proven that you can replicate the issue at will by using faulty hardware (the keyboard).

if you cannot, if for example the issues exosts even with the Known Good Keyboard, a different issue exists.

But it is not because of the version of the PC release. No version of the game to date causes the reported issue on my PC.

Hmmm. After further review, this problem only seems to happen when riding a horse. When on foot, Caps Lock functions correctly as a 2-stroke toggle. But on a horse, it’s a 4-stroke thing, especially if you’re holding down W at the same time as you’re hitting Caps Lock.

Some keys in KCD block each other and it’s really stupid.
Also key repeat is blocked by application, e.g. I cant set volume normally, just pressed key 40x
