Pebbles disappeared

Hey everyone, I have an issue with Pebbles since last night. I was running in middle of night away from my enemies in woods. All of a Sudden I got knocked down from Pebbles, don’t remember if it was because it was exhausted or other reason.

Here is the issue. Pebbles was laying on the ground and panting/breathing heavily. Since then he won’t come when I whistle. I’ve tried saving the game, loading the game, sleeping, fast traveling, relaunch the game and nothing seems to fix the problem.

Anyone have/had this issue and figured out the solution?

Time to buy a new horse

wait, for real? I know he’s not the best horse in the game but wanted to finish my 1st playthrough with him :frowning: Guess I’ll go to Neuhof and buy a new one.

I dont think pebbles can die
maybe he’ll be back after some days

game time wise? Not even two days or something. I didn’t think he can die but this is really weird, plus he was lying on the ground and had hard time breathing. Should I try to wait more then? I still can access things I sent to him and see his stats and everything. It’s really weird. :frowning:

I can’t recall it for sure but I think I read something that a horse can not die
it can get wounded that its near death and I think it needs some days for recovery then
maybe someone else knows more but I’d try to wait a few ingame days

I had the same thing happen to me - got thrown from Pebbles when she was stabbed w/ a polearm by a bandit. I killed said bandit and was horrified to see Pebbles down and panting. I feared the worst, and didn’t do anything for a while. All of a sudden she jumped up, and I spun around, not seeing her. Whistled, and there she was. I don’t know why the same didn’t happen for you. I’m on a PS4, FWIW.

did that happen after you were ambushed by some bandits while fast traveling?
If the anwer is yes pebbles is indeed gone forever…go buy a new horse -.-

After this happend to me already, i use to dont fast travel on horseback anymore :wink:

It wasn’t during fast travel, I was running through woods away from some Cumans and boom, there she was. Lying on the floor panting :frowning: I will wait few in-game days and will see.

Moral to the story: Don’t gallop so long that the horse runs out of stamina. You can kill real horses by riding them too hard, and apparently you can do the same in the game.

I don’t believe your horses can die. It’ll just take time for it to recover.

I had the same thing with Al Baruq however je got shot straight in the nose by An Arrow after 2 minutes of waiting around him He stood back up. So i geus the weaker the horse the higher the chance they actually die?

Your horse can die.
