People won't talk to me despite high reputation

Traders in Rattay are telling me to go away but my reputation is 92. I’ve waited overnight and gone to other towns and they’re reacting the same. I’m not sure why or what to do about it.

The last mission I did was meeting poachers in the woods outside Talmburg, you’re given a choice of which side to fight on and I sided with the soldiers and we killed the poachers. I’m not sure if something’s supposed to happen at the end but they just stood there doing nothing so I left.

I have always sided with the poachers, as they are actually the ones in the right. The huntsman is a crook, and the whole town of Talmberg actually seems to think he is. During the quest you prove it. I am not sure if that is why. I doubt it, but maybe. I will have to try siding with the guards next play through and see.

If you are on PC and have 1.4.1, I would say it is probably just another bug rearing it’s ugly head.

Do some small crime like pickpocket and let them take you to jail, it helps me .

Sounds like my problem on an old savegame. Although i should have a high reputation (100 in Rattay everywhere), nearly all merchants have a reputation below 50. I did not commit any crime …

Ah thanks. I couldn’t remember the story or who was who, I’ve been doing a lot of other missions.

Thanks but I punched a guard and was sent to jail for 9 days, it didn’t change anything.
I’ll revert to an old save game I suppose.

Don’t place stolen items in your chest. Simply sell them to the next miller. Or see your reputation go down everytime you take a stolen item from YOUR chest.

Maybe they think you’re just a prick, despite your reputation?

But seriously, Is it just Rattay or all towns?
All towns, then surely a bug (and you’re surely screwed), just Rattay, there must be something there that is off.
That last mission you mention is bugged as hell anyway. Better to load a previous save.
