Performance, and is it worth $50?

Hey everyone. Just 2 questions here. How’s the performance and do you think it’s worth $50 when the game is only in Beta?

I’ve had very bad experience with games in the past that run on the Cry engine. However this looks absolutely phenomenal. So I am willing to put that aside.

My specs:

CPU: i7-4790k @ 4.9Ghz
GPU: Msi GTX 980Ti
HDD: 512GB m.2 SSD (2000/1400MB/s)
RAM: 32GB DDR3 2133Mhz

So as you can see my specs are pretty good. However that means nothing if the game isn’t optimised well. I understand that it’s in a beta but am I going to be able to play this smoothly or not? For me it’s not worth buying (yet) if I can’t run it at max at 1080p and still play smoothly.

Also from what I see, it’s mostly single player game? So is there enough content currently to make it fun? I don’t mind it being single player, in fact I actually kind of somewhat prefer it but I’d like to be able to play with other people obviously, after an eventual period of time.

Two final small questions. How’s the voice acting since the alpha, it seemed as if only 1 person did all the voices first.
Lastly, how’s the AI? I saw that when attacking guards and such that their reactions after being attacked are very, very slow. Has this been increased to be more realistic or can you still just slash most people down now before they can draw a weapon…?

Yes, in my opinion it worth 50 bucks and should people just stop asking about the performance problem ,this question has been ask on this for like 200 times ,the dev have said so many time this game is still in beta’s state ,the game will be optimize when the game is released and for fuck sake ,this question just come like the god damn woman’s period, keep looping every fucking single month, just search your question before you start a new post and ask

Not everyone has $50 to drop on a game that is still in beta.

I didn’t make this thread to hear about your discontent with people asking basic questions and I couldn’t care less about your ranting and raving. If you have such a problem with people asking questions like this, then consider not using the forums at all. As this is exactly what forums are for. Save yourself the stress and anger as it seems you are easily agitated.

With your specs you should be able to run the game with a breeze. No issues.

I think you will be fine just don’t touch the sliders as they cause issues with stuttering, etc.

Calm your tits man you haven’t even been around a year here so what are you bitching about?

@Zeptinune Its in beta state (more akin to early access or late alpha still), unless your looking to TEST and help with bug finding and dealing with potential crashes and low performance then you may want to wait a bit.

Many of us having been having a good time with the beta and would recommend it, it really just depends on what your looking for.

The save system is not fully functional at this time this is the most important piece no one shares, if your looking to have continued progress in your questing and exploration now is not the time.

Welcome to the community mate.

In its current state, it’s worth $4.99 at best.

Given Warhorse Studios’ grand vision, yeah, if they pull this off, $50 AAA title is on the horizon and well worth the money.
Right now, I wouldn’t dish out the money though (even though I did)

No it is not worth the $50. I have seen a few Videos.

  • The Game looks really nice, Ok
  • I like the realism, i dont need magic and so on.
  • Story and Setting can be nice too.

But the Fights in the Game, oh my GOD, its like watching to Grandmas fighting. The fights are to slow. I dont need Left-Mouse Klicking and killing. (bashing). But this Fight System is to slow my English is not the best but i try it. The Stamina is too important, 2-3 attacks and i must rest, the opponets wait to long before the try to hit me, my brakes and the solw attack rate of the opponets, let the fights look realy slowly. Stamina is important yes, but not so big, bigger more less stamnia, ok.

Second, i dont need OP Character at the End-Game, but right now, i am not shure, that i see, that my Character learned something. but ok, for that i have to wait until the full Game is out.

I think it is GOING to be worth $50 dollars when they finally release the full game as of right now it is not exactly worth $50 as it is not full finished but do not let it dissuade you as the game is still fun to play and you still get the fully finished game when its released. I have been playing it quite a bit now and noticed many bugs with the game as it is in BETA, where bugs and issues are to be expected especially performance hits. If you do not feel as if you would like to find bugs in the game or help test as said by McWonderBeast then I simply would wait till the full game came out. As far as your specs go, you should definitely be able to run the game maxed out when the game fully releases, MAYBE even in beta but I am not sure as I do not have that setup.

My Specs:
GRAPHICS: 2x GTX 770 SLI
PROCESSOR: Intel i7 4820k @ 4.2ghz
HDD: 2x 1TB 7200RPM @ RAID 0
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1866mhz

With my system I was able to run the BETA on high setting at 30fps most the time but I did slip into the lower 20’s when I entered the forest.

NOTE: Game performance with a game in beta will be completely different (Lower FPS), from the FPS you will have when the game is finished and optimized (Typically higher FPS).

Hope I helped in some way!

I would not exactly base what the game is worth on a few videos that you have seen. Watching the game being played vs actually playing the game can be very different. I do think combat can be slow and that will be improved throughout the days till the full release.

I am afraid that at its current state the amount of content is not worth 50$. What it has will be expanded on and I expect it to be well-worth the money as updates come out but in its current state if you are short on cash I would not recommend it. I personally do not regret buying it it because I am excited to play and contribute to a work-in-progress. However in simply can not be compared to a finished game in its current state.
