Physical pc copy not installing by disc

Hi i got the Pc copy of the game and when i tried to install it steam seems to be preloading it with a 30 gig download. Is this because the website says there are still 2 hours left? If i have the disc i would have thought i could play it

Also will it install by disc or have a massive download like fallout 4 did where the disc was basically useless. I am Australian and we have really bad internet here and all i can get is 80gig internet which doesnt leave much room for downloading and i know of the 23gig update that is supposed to be needed and that worries me enough without downloading the entire game

(Sorry if i am posting this in the wrong spot i dont use forums much)

It’s not supposed to install by disc anymore. They ordered the discs before they knew they’d have a different build by launch. So you essentially have to download the latest build and the discs are useless besides disc 1.

Hello,
there was a post from the dev team, where they explained that they had to give final version for publishing 3 months before the release. Instead of working on some paid expansion, they kept polishing the game for those 3 motnhs and it resulted in a day 1 patch of huge size around 25 GB, but it should be full of bugfixes and improvements.

So sadly the discs are not as useful as one would like. It is especially unfortunate for people from countries where data limit is a norm. On the other hand I like the WH attitude of continuing to work on the core game.

So the 30 something download is the whole game including the update?

Then that isnt too bad i guess still annoying but its better than what other game companies do
