Pick Pocketing Tutorial calling guards on me

I have done this tutorial twice now from saves and both give same results after failing too many times and maybe doing it too fast when failing. The guy eventually turns around and actually accuses me of stealing and runs to the guards and turns me in. lol. Its the tutorial for goodness sake. Is this supposed to happen or am I just that unlucky?

Do mean the miller in Rattay?
If so did you have spoken twice with him? Once so he went after the barn and another one after he is standing there?

That is correct. I followed him to behind the mill and waiting for the dialog to finish when he told me to start. Started and after a bunch of failures he eventually turned me in.

Seems the ingame routine started to let him do some other things and this leads to this end.
Did he say something just before your last pickpocking try?
I don’t know if it is a bug or just a “normal” ingame feature. Maybe you should make a bug report.

Think i will do that, but no he doesn’t day anything but try again then turns around and starts running away yelling Thief, lol.

I had a similar experience yesterday when playing on PS4… He did say, “I am tired of standing here,” or something to that effect, and then ran off and told the guard, which then cost me half of my gold. I found it half funny and half annoying, but I do also think it is a bug that should be fixed, especially since earlier I ran out of lock picks and ended up killing a character to get a bauble, and for some reason, the guard is oblivious to that, but not to my dastardly pickpocketing of the person who told me to do it. :stuck_out_tongue:

On PS4 he shows me how to pick his pocket and then I ask for training afterwards and he refuses “not after what I’ve done”… I assume he thinks I tried to steal from him, I did not pick his pocket after I finally successfully did it. That’s ridiculous.
