Howdy y’all. I’m curious about your style of play, how do you make decisions, and if you choose to limit anything/do certain things in order to achieve a certain morality for Henry. As for me I am playing Henry as a God fearing Christian and I won’t do anything that might bring down the lords wrath so to speak. I don’t loot bodies unless I’m forced to and I play as if Henry believes his parents are watching him from above. I let anyone who surrenders live as long as they remain disarmed (I never make them “buy” their freedom). I’m hoping to get some great ideas and methods I might have not thought of as far as playing a “Good Christian”.
Im being a man of the people at the moment. I’ve just been lockpicking and pickpocketting for the poor, and myself. Im sure eventually ill try to be a “good christian” lol.
You say for the poor but does that mean you constantly give out alms? Or is that one aspect that never really gets to “manifest” itself lol
I’m playing a silver tongue theft. Working on my persuade and thieving skills.
I tried to do that but life was hard i was poor and broken so i said fuck it and started robbing peoples houses.am a good christian as well but i had to do it for living
I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure it’s even possible to play like this. I had just started a new game this morning with this in mind. I played enough to get a firm understanding of the game and started a new one so I can better manage Henry from the start. But I don’t recall there being any honest ways to make money other than the chump change you get from completing quests.
I just might have to break some laws. Like poaching seems reasonable. I don’t see how the lord can possibly be upset about me breaking a man made rule.
I’m trying to play it as if its real life by knocking people unconscious, taking all there goods and cash, and blowing it all on prostitutes at the local bathhouse.
I think it’s important to play as a good Henry through your first play. Much depends on good reputation. After you’ve completed everything feel free to ransack Rattay on your own or start another play with your second play through slot.
yeah it’s a lot more difficult and a lot of the underhanded options are forbidden to you.
At the start of the game for my first playthough I was going to do a knight character, however then I decide I wanted to just explore the game. And it didn’t help that I kept accidentally killing the surrendering soldiers and bandits. The main playthough I going to do when they fix pick locking is to create my barbarian character, which will include thief, pillaging the towns, killing of guards, being a brute, annoying the church and hopefully stop people shouting my name like i am a god when I am in their presence.
Then will need to do a thief play though (no killing)
A proper knight playthough - help all that need my aid, except all surrendering people, do a pilgrim and help the poor
A rogue - out for his own greed, back stab any offers and just being out for yourself and no one else.
A mercenary being in for the profits and nothing else.
I got a flew playthough I want to do as you can see.
Im not gonna lie I’ve already given it up lol I said fuck it and started looting corpses and shit
I’m not a “good christian”. I’m a “rich christian” , i have 26k groschen from stealing. LOL.
I have done everything I can to uphold Knightly Virtues in hopes of being Knighted sometime in the game instead of dawning shiny armor and being called a ‘knight’ when it really just feels like stolen valor LOL cough cough psst devs
I am currently playing with this mentality in mind and the line I’ve drawn for myself is that if I come across a common thief in town stealing bread or something, I’ll knock him out and repay the villager. But anytime I come across those Heathen Cumans that killed my parents and village, they are toast. I figured this would be unquestioned during that time frame and killing the invaders would be seen as doing gods work (whether thats right or wrong is obviously a whole separate debate).
The real problem has been the times I’ve had to defend myself against better armed bandits in the woods that were not Cumans, and in the frenzy of battle, killed them. I have a feeling this will just be the struggle of trying to be a good person in such trying times.
Haven’t picked a lock yet, but I will admit I did take some coins off the dead in Skalitz at the very start, so I probably need to pay some penances at the church to make up for that one.
