Please explain stats in regards to armor

For instance.

Right now my NOISE is 43.

I have a pair of boots equipped that have a NOISE rating of 80.

When I remove the boots, my NOISE Stat goes down to 39.

How is this number calculated?

If the boots have a NOISE stat of 80, then how can my NOISE stat not be at least 80 while I’m wearing them?

This is the same with all the other stats.

For instance, if my Nourishment is 50 and I eat of piece of food that has a Nourishment stat of 2, my new Nourishment stat doesn’t increase my 2, but maybe by 1.

The numbers make no sense.

I’m just trying to figure out how these #'s are calculated so I know what to equip in every circumstance.

Also, unrelated.

How do I tell if something is considered stolen while viewing it in my inventory?

When I first put stolen items in my inventory they have a red mark next to them, like the armour I stole to get out of the the fort In the beginning, but after awhile the red marks disappear.

Does this mean they’re not considered stolen after awhile?

Thanks.

Yes they are not considered stolen after some time. Cheaper item = shorter time.

And stats like charisma, noise and so on are something like average of all your equipment, maybe with some koeficient for importance of that armor (like chest plate having bigger impact then gloves)

Lol.

In other words it makes no sense to you either.

What? No I understand it quite well. It’s just based on formula, so if you get item with higher charisma then your current overall charisma, your overall charisma will be improved, because it increases the overall average rating.
