Pledging outside kickstarter?

hi all, I’m very very interested to back this game, I’ve been long wanting a historical RPG, but I haven’t joined kickstarter yet and don’t plan to do so anytime soon…

and yet I want to pledge to this project, will the dev create / accept pledges after kickstarter campaign ended? and if yes also please do so without limiting the pledging system with paypal, since I don’t have paypal too, I want to pledge with credit card… I’m asking this because I saw announcement by the dev that they will accept paypal backing since kickstarter don’t accept paypal.

and I have to say keep up the good work Warhorse, the game have much potentials, even for sequels there are still so much of medieval europe history to be choosen from the norman conquest of britain to the fall of byzantium still so much grounds ready to be used in such an RPG!

Whats with the Kickstarter hate? Everyone else seems ok with it.
Either way I am unaware of any announcements being made about this beyond the PayPal promise.

what a silly notion, I don’t hate kickstarter, I just too lazy to add yet another social account… besides kickstarter does take away some of the money, so pledging outside it will give the dev even more money.

what is so bad about my request? other big crowdfunded game projects have that option mind you.

Sorry if my response came off as aggressive I was just curious. All fair enough. Since they have said they will do a Paypal option there is no reason to believe there won’t be a CC option.

can the dev confirm this?

You would have saved your time by signing up to the paypal rather than signing up to this forum and posting this question and waiting for completely obvious answer. Just little advise for lazy person…

Beside of that it would be a possibilty to do something similar like the team of Shroud of the Avatar did for their campaign. In that way the developer might get some more money and some pledger might raise their pledge a bit if they have some month time to compensate?

It takes like half dollar from every 100 dollar pledge. Dont worry it isnt drasticall sum. Plus it directly helps the developers. They can see and (mainly show) theyr investors how much money people are willing to pay. + Its a marketing tool. It shows the hype. It shows the coments and others. Other than laziness there is no reason not to back the project via the kickstarter.

Given that the crowdfunding method was the last real option Warhorse had, and given that they’ve gone way beyond what they probably thought they’d get, I doubt the fees are a big deal.

This looks like what they’ll be dealing with: https://www.kickstarter.com/help/fees?country=GB

Don’t worry. When the Kickstarter campaign been finished they will accept the pledges by Paypal on his web page. They confirmed this in his FAQ in the Kickstarter page.

well I don’t have paypal

Why not just join Kickstarter and become a backer, then? You’ll get more out of it than simply doing so outside the project, and you can get some perks as part of it.

well as there is a serious lack of confirmation from the dev, I just might back the kickstarter instead shrug still 8 days to go…shrug

anyone from the dev actually read these forum?

From what I can tell they do read some, if not all of the posts. They are identified by the title of “Team” (or at least some are). There is also a thread where some of them have identified themselves so you could try that route and PM one of them. I’ve found them to be quick and responsive when I had a particular question. On the other hand, they may just not be able to confirm whether they are yet.

LOL OMG ok ok I’m so sorry but really? All payment providers take a cut of sales. When you come up with one that does not let the studio know. If you really don’t want a cut taken out you’d fly over there and then hand the cash in person. Thanks for the good laugh though don’t mean it to be at your expense. You will save the studio and your self time by using kickstarter.

The amount Kickstarter takes out is trivial compared to the kind of exposure, support and validation this project has given Warhorse.

Do you skip eBay because they take a cut of what the seller gets?

I would like to use PayPal as well, because I don’t have a credit card (never needed one). The thing is, will we get the same options as the Kickstarter-backers or will the packages get more expensive or have less stuff? The Duke-package looks nice to me, but without a credit card…

You can actually use a google or facebook account to log in with Kickstarter, if you happen to have one

It’s not the registration but the payment method. How can I use a credit cad I don’t have? And I’ve never needed one. Actually it’s not very easy to get one here in Germany if you don’t have a regar income of a certain amount…
