Hello everyone. I have pretty terrible performance. I’m getting fps in the 30-40 range running at 1080p on medium graphics settings, vsync off.
My hardware
i7-3770k ocd to 4.6ghz
R9 290x ocd to 1075mhz and tried crossfire with same card and even worse performance than single gpu
Ddr3 16 gb @ 2000mhz
Looking for insight into this… Other people having problems? I can run much more demanding games much better.

I’m running on lowest settings and still struggling to get a seamless experience
also my game is installed on an ssd with real world reads of 500 and writes of 450… shouldnt be such terrible performance
That’s about as good as you’re going to get in the current build. Two things will happen before this game is released. First, it will be optimized. Second new graphics cards will be out.
new graphics cards shouldnt be the answer… my system is powerful enough to play games that are newer with settings maxed at playable rates… the optimization is really what needs to occur
New graphics cards aren’t the only answer, but when it is eventually released, it will aim to be playable on current hardware. No one is going to be aiming for the optimal experience to be on hardware from 2009, which is when this project began. Current hardware at the time of release will be 2016/17, so it will be the next generation of graphics cards, the ones about to be released.
Optimization will occur for release. Not beta. At least not any time soon, and it will be done for what is current at the time of release. For now though, 30-40 FPS is playable. Obviously that wouldn’t be acceptable for release, but that’s why it’s still in beta.
I have a 5930K and two GTX 980Ti and performance is still weak. Hopefully this is something they will look into before release, and not just the content.

My mate got 30-40 frames with a GTX 980ti, too! Thats just the way it is…
Me got 15-25 with one GTX 660ti and about 25-35 with the same card SLI’ed!
To get a bennefit from SLI setup you have to activate the “Ryse: Son of Rome” profile inside the Nvidia Inspector app…

… because bottle-neck is rather CPU solving all the background simulations (mostly AI). I was actually pretty impressed how well first alphas ran… Until they added more complex AI. But that is normal in development and that is why we have Beta…
