My specs are
-Gigabyte GTX 960 Mini
-Pentium G3258 OCed to 4 ghz
-8 gigs DDR3 RAM
-Windows 7 64 bit
Even on low settings I get about 20-30 FPS, why is it so bad? The 960 is a good mid-range card, should be more than powerful enough.

Your CPU is weak…
Radeon R9 280X
Intel i7-2600k
16Gb
3 years old comp except video, it almost like HD7970. 30-50 fps.
Just upgrade ur comp.
The game is seriously that CPU hungry? I can get a stable 30-35 FPS in ARMA 3, this gets a stable 30 in some situations with constant dips to sub-20s whenever I move around or look into the distance.
I’ll be upgrading to an i5-4690K some time down the road, I guess that’ll fix the problems.
Personnal experience on KC:D : reduce width and height (resolution) and fps will go up again
I wouldn’t worry too much. This game is still early alpha and Crysis 3 was amazingly well optimized and this is using the same engine.
Its easy, download MSI Afterburner and play KCD Alpha and then watch GPU usage.
My specs
-intel i7-4770k clocked to 3.9 ghz
-8gbs ripjaws ram X series
-windows 7 64 bit
i have it set as high as the graphics can go and i don’t notice any graphics lag or low frame rate.
A big part of what makes the CryEngine so great is its optimization for four or more CPU cores. If you provide at least four, it runs very good. But with the two cores (and those don’t have SMT) of the G3258, even at 5GHz you will have problems. The engine just isn’t made for that.

It actually IS a relabeled 7970 with different settings in BIOS. Great card, I loved mine before switching to 1440p.
@apfelkuchen Crysis 3 runs on G3258 at stock speeds with 60 FPS average, I assume it’s a combination of the quad core features and the game being early alpha and not yet fully optimized.
Please remember CzigBot that this is only a pre pre alpha release… nothing fancy all it was made for was to show off some small aspects of the game, too get us all excited the alpha is not optimised to what the full game will be optimised upon release aswell as the alpha does not support sli or crossfire. It’s just literally a basic block to play around on to get a feel for the possible future to come of the game. So I would not worry too much. Also I am running an i5 4690k and I highly recommend it, but if you want a bit more futureproof hardware I recommend forking out the extra couple of hundred for an i7 not necessarily the 4790k but just an i7 in general as alot of modern games are starting to demand some real cpu power to chug along with steady fps.
Anyways hopefully I have given some insight all the best!
GTX 970, i7 2600k @4Ghz, and 8GB RAM and I can’t get a steady 60 FPS on 1080p. I am so used to a constant 60 fps so anything else and it just feels bad to me.
