On PC after patching and having downloaded/installed the texture & English packs on Steam into a vanilla game folder with no mods:
1.Henry can no longer court Teresa. Tested a save just before the point he plays hide & seek in the barn. Now this dialogue “Would you like to get up to something?” is completely missing from the dialogue options, making it impossible to complete courting Teresa.
2.Can’t hear Henry’s speech/dialogue for the new hair cut requests. Henry’s lips move but no sound comes out. More specifically, Henry is STUCK in an infinite loop soundlessly speaking to the bath proprietor NPC. The camera never switches back to the NPC but locks on to Henry for infinity. Forces CTRL-ALT-DEL aka 100% game restart by killing software app in Windows task manager. Lmao. WTH. Which leads to #3
3.Henry can’t get any of the new haircuts at the bath on requesting said haircut. Because of the bug in #2 above. So this new DLC part of the game fails to work as advertised.
4.The “Press E” to escape that infinite 3 min intro on Wencelas the Wabbit King DOES NOT WORK. Then again, it’s failed to work since game launch. Such joy. Especially now that the skip intro mod no longer works due to the game update.
- Graphics pop out texture hell STILL exists. This is on High (not Ultra setting)
And oh yes, MQ progression is STILL broken besides other things.
I really wanted to enjoy this game. But the pervasive game breaking bugs and graphic war on my GPU are an absolute deal breaker.
Would’ve been entertaining to see what else this official patch has failed to fix and/or break seeing further MQ progression is unfeasible. But I don’t care to gift WH any more free QA/QC testing on an unfinished, buggy beta release they marketed as a $60 AAA title. Then again, this was a much needed failure state.
Future odds of me buying a non beta tested, rushed to market, unproven $60 game–marketed as a AAA title from an unknown software dev? Exactly ZERO.
Guess PT Barnum was right. There is a sucker born every minute. Didn’t realize that statistic would ever apply to me…
