The merchants will be pissed if you rob them and raise their prices for a while to make up for the losses, also guards will be more likely to stop you.
Anyways, when you weren’t caught while stealing it doesnt hurt your reputation. You just suffer because the merchant needs to make up for all his items and groschen beeing stolen, so its just normal that they need to raise prices.
If you want lower pirces, just wairt for a while. The merchants will calm down when they made up for the losses.
