PS4 1.05 (1.3) - Input lag, R2 still not fixed, worse pop in and another graphical downgrade

Hello,

There is a input lag now,
even worse pop in (ride through Sassau on a horse and then face invisible wall. Waited for 10 seconds to see that i’m stuck in pillory),
R2 still not fixed - not working in battles, KCD is the only game with this problem for me. My R2 works very well only in inventory. Is it so hard to make same sensivity for button in fighting?
Also there is another graphical downgrade - torch fire looks really bad now and there is no more “hot air” effect on it. I really hope that it’s a bug, not “optimization”.
And pixelated rain bug also still in the game.

I’m playing on a standart PS4.
And sorry for my english.

Yup R2 not working for me either. Plus I cant Threat people anymore either even though I’m like 7-8 points higher than the NPC. Pop ins are the worst now since launch.

Pop-in is worse? I’ve heard conflicting feedback from different users.

Personally texture streaming is improved for me in patch 1.3, but I haven’t had the chance to assess pop-in. Pop-in has been worse for me since patch 1.2, but it didn’t seem like it had gotten any worse than that with patch 1.3 from the brief period I played.

That wall in Sassau, is that the only instance where pop-in seems worse, or is it noticeably worse throughout?

Pop in and texture seems better.:clap:t4: Still a lag though

Only issue from the ones you’ve mentioned I’m on board with is the INPUT LAG! agh man I loved this game so much then the input lag added in 1.05 is really taking me out of it. I will continue to support this great game regardless but my god please undo whatever caused that or find a work around idk how these things work

Yes input lag sux. For me its unplayable with patch 1.3 on PS4. :frowning: So lets try it in a month or when they release next patch

I personally had no problems with the game in the previous patch, I bought it maybe a week or two ago, and other then textures taking a long time to load when traveling on my horse, and a few quest bugs (Courtship and House of God so far) it’s been a fantastic experience. But now, in just the first 30 minutes of playing with the new 1.05/1.3 patch, it has been a buggy nightmare. Yeah, textures taking awhile to load in isn’t the best, but it didn’t bother me any. Now NPCs and even buildings are just popping in randomly, I’m having constant difficulties getting repairs for weapons, and also moving items to my horses inventory. I really hope the issues this latest patch on PS4 has caused will get resolved soon, I’ve been absolutely loving the game so far, and don’t want the new patch to ruin it. Awesome game though! Amazing details. I honestly wish though that I hadn’t installed this patch, it was a pretty damn good experience before.

That’s how I felt after installing patch 1.2. I’ll have to do some further testing to assess this patch but I hope that pop-in hasn’t been made even worse.

Could you elaborate on the bugs you’ve experienced when repairing weapons and transferring items to the horse inventory. Will see if I can recreate them in my own game.

EDIT: After playing extensively last night, and going from Ratty to Sasau, to Uzhitz, I came to the conclusion that it was only in Sasau and Rattay where the pop ins were really bad. Input lag is still there, and can’t seem to repair my bow for some reason, but they have pretty much fixed the slow texture loadings, and in the countryside/smaller towns no pop ins at all! Graphics seem better too.

Well, I only was able to play about 30 minutes, but while I was playing I went to the Weaponsmith in Rattay to repair a few weapons that were too badly damaged for me to repair myself, and that worked fine. It showed all weapons that had damage, as it should, and it worked. But then I went to repair the weapons I could repair myself, clicked on my blacksmith kit, clicked on the first weapon I was trying to repair, a Cuman bow I believe, and all it did was make a strange sound I haven’t heard yet, and then the bow disappeared from the repair screen. I went to try and click the repair kit again, as the bow hadn’t been repaired, and it gave a pop-up message saying “Nothing to mix with” or something similar. So I went back to the weapon smith to have him repair it, and it was completely gone from the repair section for him too. With the horse, I was going to put the blacksmith repair kit back in its inventory, since I keep all of the repair kits in my horses inventory, and I got the “Horse cannot carry anymore” pop-up message. It fixed itself though after a few minutes, so was more of just an annoyance than a game breaking thing. Going to try again now that I’m back home. I wish I had looked at the forums here before just installing the new patch lol Really hoping the pop ins can be fixed, I would gladly take the slow texture loading over buildings, bridges, NPC’s etc popping in and out randomly every time I turned around or sprinted faster the game can load. About to go try some more, fingers crossed and I’ll be back to report anything else I find.

After seeing patch 1.3 went active yesterday for Xbox one, I hopped on to continue playing after having put it down for a week only for my game to crash when turning in my current quest, find pie. Did it three times in a row, so back to the shelf until this game can get fixed. About to give up and demand a refund.

Same here with the R2 along with when I am attacked on the road? I am getting hit and killed while still in the loading screen -_- By the time I come out of it and thinking I can maybe defend myself? Bam…dead. Game Over.
Then the walking in doorways glitch? Now it is on some paths or inclines in the open world. My guy refuses to climb them. I’ll try and jump to maybe advance and instead my guy repels off the incline like it is a trampoline… then takes massive damage upon landing.
Oh and the rain still looks like space invaders or missile command.
I don’t know man…really want this game to succeed, but I am not a beta tester.
After I lost all my close to end game saved data to the save bug and then see more bugs incoming several weeks back?
Have to set this game down now. I hate to say it :frowning:
Waited several weeks for this patch and see now it may be many months before we even possibly get what PC players are enjoying.

Whining about graphics and gameplay when you’re trying to run the most demanding game ever since Crisis on a 8y old PlayStation lol… either upgrade to a Pro or go by a proper gaming rig then all your problems go away

Same problems for me

I stopped playing weeks ago due to the r2 not working/laser beam rain effect/ not saving game progress.
rain seems fixed and touch wood the saves also. r2 not working - still not solved.

after dloading the 15gb update i was hopeful that the r2 might be sorted but nope, lost an important duel during a quest because i could not swing the bludgeon at all and could only poke with light attack. yeah i could try switching controller buttons r2-l2 but its a pain in the butt when you play other games regularly and have to keep switching back via accessibility settings. how hard is it to have the r2 work in combat?.....works just fine in inventory and any other games i play on ps4. so it sure isnt my controller that`s the problem.

Also seems laggier now - walking around sasau seems more stutters are noticeable.
i found the performance pretty good after the day 1 patch to be honest, but now it actually does seem degraded since this big update.

this is a bugs thread btw, to come and just mock hardware or state “should have got a uber pc…”
not helpful or clever. the game was sold on platforms such as the standard ps4, so it`s not too much to expect a proper playable version, really.

I’m on a Pro with a 4k setup as well. Still having the same issues so…yeah? That statement is false. Even the Xbox players are having the same issues. Several PC players are having crashes to similar problems. It isn’t just on PS4. The problems are all around. Why should those of us whom don’t have the “perfect” set up stay silent? The game is far from finished and creating massive issues across the board on all platforms. Have you seen these threads on here? Btw I also have a great PC as well as nice Alienware gaming laptop. I refuse to put this game on them just because of the issues it is making for everyone. Those devices are too valuable for me. Will not chance installing this game till they completely polish it.

Incorrect attitude. Game should work on all platforms it is sold on.
Ps4 vs pro isnt that much of a difference and Sony insisited that no games should need a Pro. (Pro is for VR… subtle improvements with some games)
In fact Sony took a solid stance that no games could be released for Pro only.

In time this game will work. Telling people their system is the issue isnt taken well (even if their system IS the issue).
On my ninja pc rig with an M2 drive and quad channel RAM/6core-12threaded beast it gave an issue today with streaming assets. (An npc was built clothes first, then torch, then neck, then head, then head texture…)

First time I have had it happen - and a Pro would be a massive step backwards… and their isnt a PC in any significant way better than my platform.

So- Muzz- what advice would you give a person far exceeding requirements anf having issues?

Dont get me wrong- I am not complaining- just showing you a weakness with your argument

Id definately play this game on those pcs… it really changes game type when frame rate goes north of about 40.
Feels like an arcadey fighter.
Also windows (microsoft) will break your pcs before this game could/would.

The only thing worth doing would be to frame cap at monitor refresh rate.

Eg I run game at ultra + settings and if I dont framecap sometimes I will render 70-90 frames per second.
My tv wont show more than sixty so capping my framerate means my video card can relax and will run cooler/quieter.
This game wont hurt a PC. And if software hurting your hardware is a concern youd best roll back any win10 devices you have…

I am on a PS4 Pro now and the Problems are still there! Yes Texture Streaming semms a little bit better but some Textures still load really late! And the Pop-In’s ar worse now in my oppinion. The whole screen is blinking because shop Signs and People popping in 10 Meters from you. Also Bushes and other deco parts popping in as well.

Yes it is better when you are not in a town but still noticeable!

Hmm … I’m going to play devils advocate here, but it’s common sense that the game wouldn’t perform well on such outdated hardware.

Sorry to break it to you, but the PS4 already launched outdated, and now we’re 4 years from launch …

You need AT LEAST a PS4 Pro or in best case scenario an Xbox One X (if you can afford it) to run this game correctly.

Game still has major issues on Xbox X it’s not his system.
