Put that weapon away!

I have an Italian Bill, and people in town are constantly yelling at me to put it away.

Well, I can’t put it away. I can’t pass it to my horse’s inventory either. So either I have to carry it and endure their complaints, not use one, or constantly drop it on the ground. None of which are ideal solutions, please look into this behavior or at the least let us store it on our horses.

Yes! Same with any polearm, even if you’re accompanying the lord, and wearing the official kit of his town watch. It gets ridiculous. I really wish we could at least attach the polearms to the horse’s saddle, like countless warriors in history did.

Does go sleep with the polearm work? Do you have the polearm after the sleep in the inventory?

You can sleep with one and it stays in your inventory. Doing certain things, like quests or combat training, will put it in your inventory in a weird way, but you have to drop it on the ground to equip it afterwards.

Yes this workaround helps. But probably WH should rework this “problem” and enable to store it at the horse.

To clarify, sleeping doesn’t store the polearm, as soon as you sit up it magically appears in your hands. The most convenient way (sadly) to store one is do a quick round of sparring with Bernard, which will teleport it into your inventory.

polearms can’t be placed in chest (obviously). so, WH needs to create some storage (move/place) mechanism for them. if someone were to have a collection of different polearms, they’d have to drop and ‘store’ them on the floor/ground

They already have storage barrel models for pole weapons in the game, so I hope it wouldn’t be too hard. If you try dropping one on the floor of one of your rooms, they just vanish, or for me at least, teleport up through the ceiling.

mine ended up next to theresa’s bed… she has trust issues even after i distracted the cumans

Did it actually stay there though? Every one I’ve tried to “store” in my room vanishes whenever I leave and come back.

i moved it. seems destined to get kicked or disappear in that NPC animation spot. put in barn. so far, so good. but, only 1 day old.

Now to see if it will work after you save and reload…

found a polearm on the ground in rattay. it stayed there through a number of sleep saves. will let you know about barn polearms after some saves and game days

It’s also worth noting there is no visible polearms skill, and they cannot be sold despite having a monetary valued assigned to them.

Going to a blacksmith and repairing a glaive I picked up seems to have placed it in my inventory.

However, after taking it back out, I was unable to slash with it from horseback, only thrust, which is no good for ride-by attacks. I don’t know if it is related.

a dead guard I encountered as a result of a holdup (or something) on the road while fast travelling had a bill in his inventory that I was able to loot into mine.
